I stayed in a single room non smoking. It was clean, comfortable, modern and quiet. The room was small but big enough for one person, like other hotels in Tokyo there wasn't a place set aside to place your luggage, but i just used the chair as a luggage rack and was comfortable. There is no wifi but there is...

The staff was very helpful and the room was nice and neat. We got a room for 3 and for 2. The room for 3 was big enough, but the one for 2 was really compact, not really practical for ppl with big luggage. The location is great...theres a station within 5 min on foot, convenience stores, and some restaurants...

Mystays is a great value for staying in pricey Tokyo. It has great restaurants and shopping nearby and is within walking distance of subway station. Rooms are small by American standards but adequate and very clean. I am 6'1 (182cm) and I had no problems. The only small disadvantage is lack of in room WIFI, but every room has a...

The hotel was clean and convenient, with less than a 5 minute walk to both the Asakusa-bashi JR and Tokyo Metro station. It is actually also about ~7-10 minute walk to the Akihabara district, and 2 subway stops from Asakusa station, which are two regions of Tokyo that is definitely worth checking out. There is also a Lawson convenience store...

We opted to stay away from the main hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas of Tokyo and were not disappointed. The area where the hotel is located is excellent - a residential part of town which feels like real Japan. People going about their daily business and restaurants and bars that cater for locals and not tourists (though...

I love this hotel because it is very near to West Exit Asakusabashi Station (only 1-2 minutes walking) and Asakusa Line Subway (3-4 minutes walk to the east Exit), it has Lawson convenience store connected to the lobby, it has laundry room. The room is very neat and tidy, the bathroom is also very clean with a selection of high...

We stayed here on October 2012, this hotel is well located near to Asakusabashi and Akihabara stations. From airport there is a service that goes to asakusanashi (ask before buy ticket) and from there you are in a short 5 minutes walk in hotel. Hotel has friendly staff with full command of English and also a convenient shop in ground...

A new (2013) and clean hotel. Good beds even for larger Western European persons. Rooms aren't big but are big enough. You have a good desk with a wired Internet connection that you can easily extend to wifi with your own airport router. There is air conditioning in every room that you can easily control yourself. The hotel is open...

Pros: The hotel locates close to the JR and subway stations. But caution for those with lots of luggage, JR station (Asakusabashi) has neither escalator nor elevator. The subway has them. Convenient on the first floor, and a mid-size supermarket nearby. Laundry room is very convenient and free of charge. Asakusabashi is an interestingly convenient place to stay for sightseeing....

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
