Pleasant hotel. Located near Chinatown and right on the harbor but a little away from the shopping/entertainment (perfect for me). The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel and rooms are clean, clean, clean! Some difficulty with communication in English but we managed to get by. The rooms have Wifi but it seems the top floors have better connectivity. I...

It was my first time at a Mystays chain. I landed at Haneda Airport and took the subway, which connected straight to the line that would reach Asakusabashi. It was a little hard to find the hotel as I wasn't sure where I was going at first, but once I got there, it was very easy to get your bearings...

This is my fourth time visiting MyStays Asakusabashi. To me it is one of the best values in Tokyo. Located in a generally quiet neighborhood just steps away from JR Asakusabashi Station, which gives you easy access to Akihabara, Shinjuku, and all points on the Yamanote Line. Like most bargain Tokyo hotels, it is a small room. But comes with...

Staying at Mystays Asakusabashi is as expected from a hotel in Tokyo. Very compact. The couple bed is at most a Super Single Size. The whole place is spic and span. It is just a short 3 mins walk from the Asakusabashi station JR line, there is a Lawson Convenience store right downstairs, and they are able to store your...

This hotel is literally 1 minute away from the subway station! The location is great and there is a lot of little restaurants around the hotel for late night dining. Plus it's walking distance from akihabara! I would definitely stay again!

Good location. Only stayed one night as was transfering through Tokyo at that time. Clean. Small space (but not smaller than other rooms in Tokyo). Some staff spoke English well, others didn't. Ensuite bathroom was very nice. Wifi only worked well in the lobby. I booked through their website which was easy and reliable. Great value for money!

Great location, 5 minutes away from the JR Asakusabashi Station. Affordable at around 7700yen-8300yen per night. With private bath and toilet. "You get what you pay for" for the room size. Small but cozy and clean, very nice room. Reservation made at their official site and no down payment needed. We paid the day we checked in. Highly recommended and...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
