The hotel is one street away from the river and there are tons of restaurants and shops all around. A lawson(convenient store ) attched to hotel at the...

3 nights stay at the hotel we found that it's quite easy to go to JR or cucling to te nearby attractions. The room charges is reasonable for Tokyo hotel. The room is quite ok not too small. There are also helpful and friendly staff to advise us how to go around. If you stay there you should try a...

This is my second visit to Tokyo and my second visit to the hotel. As per my last review, the hotel staff are helpful and friendly. They spoke English well so there's no problem communicating with them. I arrived at the hotel early (around 2pm) and was given a room since it was ready. I had a package sent to...

I stayed at the hotel for just over a week in September 2013. I can't stress enough how convenient it was for us. Rooms are a little small, but honestly that is to be expected with most Tokyo hotels. Public transit is within walking distance - it is only a few minutes walk to the elevated Asakusabashi station on the...

Pro: good location, clean, double bed room big enough to have two luggages open, convenience store right next door, free laundry and drying machines. Con: can hear train arriving/leaving the JR station at night.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. We came to Tokyo via Shinkansen and left via Haneda so getting here and leaving here was a breeze. Although the location isn't the best, it's far from the worst as it's pretty easy and convenient to transfer to different lines. There also a direct train to Haneda! The neighborhood is...

I stayed at this hotel for seven days in my Tokyo trip. Great access to JR line, Sobu subway line, which is direct line to Shinjuku and other stations. Rather giving the same comments as other guests about the extreme cleanliness, adjacent convenience store, free launderette, I would recommend this hotel for people who have problem with neck pain from...

Nice choice for me! I accommodated myself 3 times at Hotel Mystays Asakusa-bashi within 2 months. Clean room , friendly staff, quiet surroundings, close to JR and subway, reasonable rates. I will surely return there!

It is very well managed hotel with almost all facilities you can expect under the price you are paying. Only one thing missed: wifi in the room, though it is there in the lobby. Liked it, will go again if go to Tokyo....

I actually stayed at both the Asakusabashi location and the Ochanomizu location. Of the two, I liked this one much more. I was quite surprised how nice the room was. Fully equipped, nice sized bed. Internet got a little slow at night, but otherwise fine. I even had a partial view of Skytree from my 5th floor room. It is...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
