Good value for money. For one night only is ok. I would not spend two nights there. I found it messy and not as clean as I expected. Too many people crowded in one room. I felt I was sleeping in a coop.

Nice place to stay and close to train stations (one away from akihabara). Clean and they offer toast and jam in the morning for breakfast. Unfotunately the rooms can be a bit nosey because of the japanese style but guests are as quiet as it can be so the noise is not too much of a problem. Recommended!

Had a really good time at this hostel. Super clean and nice boiled eggs for breakfast :) You get all you need from a budget hostel: Clean room and clean common areas! Not noisy at all and small but helpful lift. I definitely recommend it!!

Stayed here for 3 nights in a shared dorm and it was quite an enjoyable stay. Though the neighborhood is residential, you've got to keep quiet after 11 pm, but you can always head out to many of the nearby places to drink or eat. Met a lot of people from all over the world and the lounge area was... More

Hostel was lovely and really helpful, there is information everywhere for things to do and places to go. The hostel is also close to some main areas and within walking distance for transport, either tokyo airport isnt that far away. Had a brilliant time.

we picked this hostel because the staff understood english and was very friendly. This place was very accessible and was within walking distance of the ASAKUSABASHI station. The rooms were ok, the beds were dusty and needed vacuum cleaning in my opinion The bathroom/toilets were ok 4/5. Id come back :)

One of the best things about this Hostel are the staff, they are all very nice and speak perfect English. Nice common area with free breakfast and free wifi. The location was good, 5 minutes from train stations and nice area to stay in. Bathrooms were clean. Only negative is that the beds were uncomfortable, very hard.

This hostel is situated very close to Akihabara, it has good connection with JR or metro lines. You can also go by foot and you willreach main station or Ginza in ca. 40 min Stuff is very freindly and they are speaking very good English, which in Japan is worth extra mentioning. The room I slept in was for 3... More

Great base for exploring Tokyo. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed and close to a metro stop. The lobby is very cool in terms of decor and reception were more than able to help you out. The showers and toilets were on each floor and divided by male/female but also were very spacious and there were always... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.

“Couples might prefer the private 2 person rooms, but for everybody else it really depends how social you feel like being. I spoke to people who shared 12 man rooms who had a great time and made a lot of friends. We liked the 4 man room because it was a little less overwhelming and a bit more private.”

“Don't choose this hostel. I've stayed in a much better hostel in Tokyo previously- Aizuya Inn in Minami- senju. I would definitely recommend it over Anne's. We chose Anne's this time as we thought it was more convenient to get to the airport. It was definitely a poor choice.”
