I would say it is one of the medium cost hotels in Asakusa. The hotel is not near to the subway station though, it took me some times to find the exact location of the hotel. The signboard of the hotel name is not big neither. However, the tips is you can walk through the Sensoji Temple until the end,...

After 13 hours on a plane for just barely a 12-hour stay in Tokyo, all we needed was a clean, safe and affordable place to stay. Hotel Waso was it. The tatami beds were very comfortable, we had our own full bath, TV, fridge, teapot, cookies and seaweed snack. The front desk is 24/7 and very kind and helpful. We...

I stayed here for eight nights and it was lovely. The place is just a very short walk away from the Senso-ji Temple and there are all sorts of restaurants, bars and stores in around. Great location. I stayed in a one person Japanese stuke room and it was cleaned every day thoroughly. In the room you have everything you...

Stayed 2 nights in the twin room. On the first night, the tv on by itself in the middle of the night, the remote control was not with us so we could not have accidentally press it, my friend woke up and off the tv. On the second night, there are strange noises but we couldn't locate where it came...

Staying in a capsule was a cultural experience that I felt I had to have while in Japan. This hotel did not disappoint. The manager was incredibly welcoming and spoke excellent English. The common areas were clean and comfortable. The capsule itself was not as small as I had feared/expected, and was quite comfortable. The only comfort issues I had...

Didn't know what to expect since the pictures do not look as nice but was very much surprised as it was really cosy and spacious for 2 person and 2 big luggages. The futons were so comfortable and the AC was working well! It really is cosy! The room was clean as well even though there were stains on the...

We got two 'rooms'. One person in our party of three got a capsule and I stayed in a twin room w/a friend. Overall the actual room was comfortable, had it's own A/C, super important for Japanese summer, clean linens, comfortable bed. If I had less luggage I would stay again, but it was far from the nearest subway station....

Excellent value for money. We got the Japanese Style Tatami - Twin Room and it was pretty spacious for us. We re-arranged the tatami mats a bit so there would be enough room for when we opened our luggage. Location is missing just 1 star because while it is only 7 mins away from Asakusa Tsukuba Express station, it's a...

Nice quiet place near Sensoji. Staff is helpful and efficient. Room is small but comfortable and clean. Amenities include soap, shampoo, toothbrush, razor, kettle, towels, yukata. US$60 per night for 2 people in the heart of Asakusa is a bargain! Will return.

Very friendly staff. Possibility to leave the bags for the day after check out, 100yen/hour after 4 p.m.. First try at a capsule hotel, nice experience. Extremely silent, everyone respected the silence. Nice to find an affordable, real capsule hotel for women. Plus for the warm onsen-like bath. Not possible to live closer to the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. No...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.

“I got the 4th floor's room (tatami for double) & it's good. Though there's no AC because I came in autumn time. They switch it into heater. So I have to open the window to get some cool air. Thankfully the road in front of hotel is quiet.”
