This Toyoko inn hotel branch also provided good quality of room service cleanness and breakfast. Hotel Locate is 7 mins to train station Ikebukuro and this area has variety of big shopping mall, walking street for day and night life. Lot of restaurants to try. There is nearby Toyoko inn branch II newer building for alternative.
clean, the bed is comfortable , staff helpful and nice. breakfast is good. I like the miso soup always. coin laundry in the lobby. about the location, less than five mins walk from train station north exit. close to everything. lots food to eat. night life. good for someone want stay close but don't want pay too much.
A very well located hotel in this busy area of Tokyo . It is 5 mm away from the railway station ... And the area is full of great restaurant . Walk an other 5 mm after the station and you can do your shopping in Tobu or Seibu .. Food , clothes etc. Rooms of the hotel are small but very well organized , breakfast is good .. You can eat miso soup , rice , meat balls ... If not you will have brioches, cakes ... Enjoy it .. I forgot the room is not really expensive ..
The hotel is very convenient and around 5-10min walk from the Ikebukuro JR and Metro station. Frankly speaking, the popular shopping area of Ikebukuro is on the other side of the Metro exit, but there are still a lot of restuarants and convenience stores near the hotel and the shopping area is not far neither, so no problem at all. The hotel room is not as small as I expected as normally hotel rooms in Tokyo is very tiny. Considering the price we paid, I think the room size is very good. Nothing special about the hotel, clean and basic as usual. Comfortable and offered free breakfast. Although not many choices in breakfast, I think it is quite okay and standard. Wifi is good. The hotel also have coin-laundry-machines, but only 3 of them. It was horrible experience when we tried to queue up for the laundry as the clothes-drying machine is not powerful enough and it takes ages to get the clothes dry. So we finish washing the clothes, but need to wait for a long time to put our clothes in the clothes-drying machine as other guests used it for a long time :( So I suggest for those who would like to do the laundry there, you better start earlier, otherwise, you won't be able to get to bed by 3:00am.…
Toyoko Inn has been my regular hotel whenever am traveling to Japan. I started my stay with tis hotel at Ikebukuro. Although tis area is deemed as an unpopular areas to stay among local but I found it to b pretty safe so far. It's only 10 min walk fm the Ikebukuro JR station, North Exit, super convenient in terms of commuting by JR or subways. Many eateries and shopping malls too. Prices are cheaper than those at Shinjuku or Shibuya. It comes with free Japanese breakfast n free wifi in the room. If u joined as members u get discount n early check in. Book directly v convenient.Strongly recommended
Great location! Walking distance to train station, lovely eating places and 24hrs family mart! Great choice if you are looking for decent and not so expensive hotel. Breakfast are a delight! Simple and yet delicious spread!
Happily arrived at the hotel & was shocked to know that a double room is only meant for 1 person though we did indicated that max occupancy is 2. Had a long conversation with AGODA but end of the day, we still have to pay extra charges if 2 person is occupying the room. The hotel receptionist was very sympathetic with our situation & agreed that the AGODA booking system is at fault so a discount was given. Overall, this hotel is very convenient (near Ikebukuro station) ... 2 family marts within walking distances, free wifi in room, free simple breakfast ...good location!
I find all Toyoko Inns to be an economical and predictable place to stay. It's a budget business hotel chain with a business model designed to provide essentials and that's it. You get a small private room with en suite facilities, elevator, free wifi, breakfast, everything the busy Japanese business traveller needs. Check in, shower, sleep, grab a quick breakfast and get going. Anyone expecting concierge services or advise on tourist attractions is in the wrong place. This location is on what I would call the wrong side of Ikebukuro station in not the greatest area as there are a few bars and nightclubs, places that rent by the hour etc. However it's only a short walk to the station and therefore the Narita Express and Yamanote line. I never felt unsafe walking by myself.
I will definitely consider the Toyoko Inn chain again if I return to Japan some day. Overall I think this hotel is a good example of glass-half-full, glass-half-empty. If you want to find fault, there are shortcomings. Its location in Ikebukuro is both busy and charmless. Things mostly work smoothly enough but if they don't, it will be very difficult communicating with staff unless you speak Japanese. Wifi is decidedly spotty. Noises readily through the building. All this said, I was content with my stay. Policies and services are mostly well documented in English brochures, etc. The hotel was quiet enough overnight, at any rate in early April. My room was a compact, clean and comfortable home away from home for a week. Unless you book well in advance or get very fortunate, you may not do a whole lot better in Tokyo for this price.…
When I traveled to Japan, it was a cheap, nice stay. They accomodated us with traditional Japanese food and a nice, perfect sized room. The bathroom was kind of strange as it was all plastic-like. Opening up the bathroom door, it seemed as if I stepped into a whole different place. It was very clean and very close to the bullet train we took from the airport. I would stay here every time I travel to Japan! The people were great, there was just nothing to watch on TV, though. I would recommend a view towards the middle, even though you can look out across to the people in the room on the other side, it's a nicer view!
