Here an overview : + really friendly staff + really clean + every day new towels etc + comfy bed - lot's of pillows upon request + great location + washing possibilities - pretty old Overall we really felt at home there. Yes it was old and not on the newest updates but we had everything we needed. For that price we would go again!
Rooms are a little vintage and it’s about 10 mins walk from Ikebukuro train station but the room was clean. Had to book a smoking room since it was the only one available but didn’t smell bad. WiFi is still a little bit slow but manageable. Small tip, since you have to leave the key at the front when you leave, remember how to say your room number in Japanese! Makes it easier for both you and the front. Also the washer/dryer use is extremely cheap (100yen each), so plus on that. All in all great experience for myself.
Well,I'm glad my stay here is over. Holy crap, don't make the mistake of coming here. The rooms are tiny. The bed is harder than a torture device. Everything is run down. And it reeks of smoke. The bed is tiny. The bathroom is even worse. I couldn't even properly stand in it. Stains in the rug. Just disgusting
This is a great hotel for the budget minded traveler. Rooms are very convenient for a solo traveler, about 8' x 15' (120 sq ft). Not comfortable for couples but it fits the bill for a solo traveler. Price was excellent, since I booked 3 months earlier I got a good price for my 6 night stay (under $47 a night, including all taxes and fees), one of the better rates for the area and better than staying at a hostel IMHO (you get your own private room and bathroom). The hotel is close to the Ikebukuro Train station, a comfortable 10 minute walk. There is a bus stop for the Haneda airport limousine bus right across the street from the Train station so easy to roll your luggage to and from the hotel. There is a Lawson's downstairs, a Family Mart, liquor store and a pet store right across the street. A number of eateries in the area including a KFC and McD's near the train station, a Don Quiote close to the Train station (another bigger one on the eastern side of the train station). Area lighting isn't that bright at night so can seem a little dark near the hotel but I always felt safe walking from the train station at night. There aren't many amenities in the hotel and room but I don't expect much from a budget hotel, basically just a safe, secure place to stay for the night. The room contains a fridge, tv, hair dryer, standard bathroom with toilet/bidet. 24 hour front desk, you have to drop off your room key at the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. The TV had the usual Japanese channels. Wifi wasn't that great, off hours/late night it was strong but during the day and evening it wasn't strong and sometimes dropped you. Check in was at 3 pm but you can leave your bags and they will put a net around the bags to hold it until you check in. Same thing after check out. They offer a simple breakfast for around $5 but I found it easier to just pick up something from Lawsons downstairs. Use the back door to get to the train station. That street takes you directly to the area near the Ikebukuro Train station. From the train station, look for the KFC and go up that street to get to the back door of the hotel. The back door hotel sign isn't very visible so make sure you know how the back side looks like before using it or else you may get confused or lost. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to solo travelers on a budget.…
Firstly the hotel is in a good location in Ikebukuro. Unfortunately that’s the only positive. Rooms are very run down with marks & dents & stains all over the walls. Really needs to be patched & painted. See pics of my room on the 8th floor. My TV & wifi didn’t work on my first night. It took a number of calls & visits to the front desk to get it sorted. Rooms are the standard small business style you find in Tokyo. While a good price for a budget hotel I think you can find a much better hotel to stay at for a few more dollars in the area
A cost friendly hotel with good amenities for solo travellers. Very convenient, quiet area and easy to find as the place is nearby all areas such as shopping districts, restaurants, Metro Stations and more in ikebukuru. The rooms are so clean with complete service though a bit tiny, good for single occupant, but still my 2 days stay is great considering the location is perfect.
Pros: -5-10 minutes walk to JR station ( take the back door is actually closer). Shopping area is on the other side of the JR station which is also a 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. -There's a 24-hour convenient store right at downstairs of the hotel! Cons: -Super tiny!! :( My bf is 6ft 2 and he had to bend his body a little bit to go through the room door. Also, he is taller than the bed so he couldn't sleep straight. The bathroom is the size of two regular public toilet stalls. We both had to turned our bodies a little bit sideway to poop, or else the door can't be closed. I assume that the size of the room is smaller than the other hotel in Tokyo since I stayed in another hotel in Shinjuku before. - The room is outdated. Wifi is extremely slow and maybe can't be connected. - I can see some dust on top of the hairdryer. Also, I am not sure is that only us on this. We both had rashes after staying for 4 nights. Overall: The room was definitely not designed for two people. You won't feel comfortable to stay in a tiny room like this, however, it's convenient. It just depends on your purpose of staying in Tokyo. For me, I have to consider if I will stay here again. …
I stayed here for two weeks. The rooms were a tiny bit outdated, but very clean. The front desk staff and maids were all very nice and helpful with whatever we needed. They spoke some English. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. I guess my only complaint would be that the wifi signal is very weak. I'm not sure if that is the case throughout the hotel or if it just had to do with where my room was. (5th floor). There's a pet store right across the street with lots of adorable little kittens! I would definitely stay here again.
This is an average hotel located in Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Our room was nice and clean, and the hotel has a washing mashine you can use as well. The hotel is close to shopping, restaurants and Ikebukuro station - which makes it easy to get around.
Ikebukuro is a busy place with a big station but not as manic as Shinjuku and cheaper. This hotel is a five minute walk from the station and is close to shops cafes bars etc. Rooms are small but adequate - beds were OK and the shower good It was cleaned everyday and towels changed. The manager was quiet and said little but the young staff were pleasant helpful and spoke some English. Western breakfast was no more than ok but I'd eat out if I were there again. Wifi in rooms was OK as well.
