Lots of the restaurant around the hotel, at least over 30. But room is small and old. Except they have a top floor common bath area which have a big outdoor and indoor whirlpool, after a long day shopping, this is the best place to relax. Restaurant very old, not attractive.

We were mentally prepared for a below-average stay here. Not too difficult to find, exit C9 and cross 3 short streets. The “lobby” is extremely run-down, just a simple counter and co-shared with the dining area. Room is really small for luggage storage and packing. Everything were in bad shape; even the carpet was worn out and floor has slight... More

I knew from the minute we walked in that this was not going to be a great experience. We happened to come in the back entrance and my daughter said, "this looks like a place they would film a horror movie". The place is dark and dingy. The front staff only had one person who spoke some English and he... More

Room was small and everything were worn out, even a hole on the floor. Smell of smoke everywhere, fortunately window can be opened but still!!! There's a public bath on top floor so you could escape from the tiny bathroom. No wifi, but location was pretty good and cheap.

If you're fat and have a hard time maneuvering in small places, you will not like this hotel at all. If you're American and used to American sensibilities, you probably will not like this hotel at all. If you're a fat American (like I am) well... First of all, the bad stuff: Its small. I mean... SMALL. Even if you're... More

this was the worst hotel I ever stayed. the staff were not friendly, and not helpful if you don't speak Japanese. The room was tiny, however the dirtiness was nonacceptable! there was dust everywhere on the furniture and there was human hair in the fridge!! what's more, you cannot adjust the aircon temperature in your room, as it is a... We took the train from the airport (faster then taken the bus), once we arrived the station, we had a hard time figure out our direction, so it's much easier to take the taxi straight to the hotel (don't forget to have the hotel fax you the name and the street in Japanese), the room was clean, but small in... This hotel is a good value if you are a solo traveler on business. Rooms are clean but very small with no closet or drawer space to speak of. Bathroom is tiny, but has the nice Japanese toilet. Included breakfast service is excellent, with choice of many different foods and beverages. Recommend this hotel for a solo business traveler or... More

This place is a nice place to stay, if you are on business trip. Since Tokyo is very costly, there are few places to stay on a shoe-string budget..

For a hotel in the heart of Tokyo, the hotel room (triple sharing) was reasonably priced. The room though small was comrortable and clean. There was a hearty buffet breakfast. There was an English speaking man at the hotel counter who was very helpful. A big plus factor was the location:near the train station,a lot of restaurants nearby. They said... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. “Don't expect too much, but close to JR or metro station, a lot of food to eat.”

“If you want quiet without lights, ask for a room facing the other hotel. If you want noisy and people watch, ask for a room facing the nightlife area. You won't be disappointed. The FRONT entrance to the hotel is hard to find unless you're really looking for it as it faces another hotel. The BACK entrance to the hotel where the guest elevator is that takes you up to your rooms faces the main road AND has a large sign that states the name of the hotel. Weird. But considering it was a short time love motel before I understand why (think about it).”
