This location is close to the station, which is on the Yamanote line (JR). It is very convenient. There is a 7-11 and a Family Mart near by, as well as a Matsuya and a Royal Host. I enjoyed the free, included breakfast. It was from 7 am to 9:30 am. There was a TV where we could see Japanese television. There are free nightgowns (you must return them/leave them in the room to be washed when you leave for the day). If you would like to stay in the room during the day, it's probably impossible, since they have to clean it. Some of the employees were really nice and friendly, others, not so much. Overall, I think it was an excellent value for the money. The corridors are very narrow and they are exposed. I was not expecting that. Also, the room was very dry. They said you could not open the door after showering since it might let off the fire alarm. I think the dryness of the room made us sick. Well... it was a good price. If you become a Toyoko Inn member, you can save and reserve early for your next stay. For the refrigerator, you must switch it on (inside the refrigerator). Otherwise, it won't work. They have a "refresher" room spray you can borrow while you are there, and a coin laundry as well as a vending machine on the first floor. They also have a water dispenser for hot and cold water. They ask you not to refill your water bottles from this.…
We stayed 2 nights at this toyoko inn that is very old. To get to your room, you have to walk an external alley that is not very clean at all.. I have probably made more than 200 roomnights in toyoko inn around Japan and Korea in my life and this is the worst ever. Breakfast: receptionist makes it all.. If they run out of orange juice, they don't replace it. At 8am there was nothing left...
The check in is fast. The room is clean and comfortable. It's surrounded by restaurants and convenient stores, so it's easy to find something to eat. It takes 3 minutes walk from Otsuka station to the hotel.
Really convenient, just a stone's throw away from the Otsuka train station and there are many eateries along the way which are opened till late at night. Was surprised by how the corridor was exposed though. It kinda gave me a feeling of staying in a local Japanese apartment instead of a hotel. The corridor had rain coming in when it was raining, and it was really narrow. Rooms are clean though. The convenience makes up for everything else.
This is one of the older properties of Toyoko Inn chain. But, as usual, is conveniently located near the JR Yamanote line Otsuka's station. About 5 minutes walk. There are plenty of food surrounding the street and by 2015, the local shops union is going to wifi the whole street. The hotel has the narrowest corridor even by Toyoko Inn standard and the corridor is exposed to weather. It is cold during winter. However, we love to stay there especially during peak season when we couldn't find other hotel. It's no frill, but convenient.
The gret thing about this hotel is its location as it is just a few steps walk from Otsuka Station which is in Yamanote line (the green circle line; shibuya, shinjuku, ikebukuro, harajuku, all are in this line). The room is small but if you just want a place for sleep, then this hotel is for you. They have clean room, clean bathroom inside the room and provide clean towels everyday. Also, they have free breakfast in the morning at the reception area with 4 tables. The food are omelette, sausages, macaroni salad, bread, very yummy croissants, fruit salad, juice and coffee. All are self-service. And don't worry about small space because most visitors are businessman so they have a quick breakfast and leave early. If you want to save money and just want a place to sleep after a long travelling day, then Touoko Inn exactly is a place for you.…
Having stayed at many toyoko inn's around Japan i knew what to expect from this hotel, but even so i should have realised that this was one of the early hotels in the chain. Whilst the room was normal sized the bathroom was very very small, standing in the bath i couldn't really take a shower - at 6ft 2" i was brushing the ceiling! Being one of the smallest hotels in the chain there is only around 50-60 rooms so it is always pretty quiet in the hotel, like all other hotels there is a coin laundry, vending machines and a free breakfast. The hotel will store your luggage for a few days but have very limited space so not ideal if you need to store any. I had booked this hotel instead of the newer one around the corner, as that one wasn't accepting bookings when i was doing mine, so i would probably use that one in future. The main reason people use this hotel and the newer one is that it is very close to the station, which isn't very common for the toyoko inns, being on the yamanote line it's ideal. Shinjuku, ueno, akihabara and tokyo are all within 20 mins travel of the hotel.…
