Its centered close to mjor hub stations and is close to local train. Some say it can be noisy but I never had that problem. Would stay again and I am later this year. Toshi is very responsive and henrique is kind and got me from the train station. Nice kebab shop underneath and lots of cool shops around.

I was in Japan recently for two weeks and stayed at the Koenji twice. The location of this place is just great, 1-2 mins walk from JR Koenji and there are tons of restaurants nearby for you to choose. My room was number 1. Though the room and bathrooms might be a bit small but it's just nice for backpacking....

It's not worth saving a few dollars from staying at this subpar guest house. 1. It is fine that the bathrooms are small, but you really wouldn't want to stay any second longer since it's a mess and mouldy at the corners. Let alone hair clogging the drains. 2. I don't think the owner tries to maintain the place on...

Bed bugs... bed bugs.... bed bugs!!!!!!! After you stay here, you will get so many kiss marks on your skin.As I was so. Except it,the location is so nice.Koenji is cool spot in Tokyo, and it's easy to go to central Tokyo by JR line.

My gf and I travelled throughout Japan for 2.5 weeks. We started our trip in Tokyo and ended in Tokyo. Both times we stayed at the Koenji. It was a great location. 1 minute walk door to door to JR Koenji station which is still considered inside the metropolitan Tokyo area so you can purchase a JR rail day pass...

Amazing location just a couple of minutes walk to JR Koenji station, once Toshi shows you the way once, it's hard to get lost even though the Koenji Place doesn't have signage. The price is very reasonable, especially so close to Shinjuku, and for that price, you'd usually get a pod or bunk bed in a hostel. Here, you get...

The staff was nice, the place is tiny but clean. Don't forget you are in Tokyo where rents are really high. For this budget, we couldn't find a better place to stay. A lot of cheap restaurants in the neighborhood and its worth walking around at night. Live music, recycle shops, not to touristic as well. Bring earplugs as it...

Arrived back in England today after a 14 night stay at the guesthouse and I cannot recommend it enough. The location as fantastic: a minute from the station and swarmed by izakayas, bars, restaurants and vintage clothes shops. Toshi-San is very welcoming and helpful. He is at the guest house most days emptying the bins, tidying up the communal areas...

I was only here a short few days, but I felt a real sadness when I left. I would ABSOLUTELY come back here again for an extended stay. It is a very authentically Japanese experience, a central space in true Japanese night life, and a believable space. Small rooms, yet very organized space for a large amount of storage. The...

The upside:- The location is unbeatable - just next to JR Koenji station. Price is affordable in Tokyo standard, especially if you are looking for private room instead of dormitory room Hostel feeling - have the refrigerator, toaster and the kitchen necessity which you can make your dinner or breakfast easily at the small common kitchen area Koenji is a...

“Room #3 is the best, since it's directly at the top of the stairs, so it's easier to carry luggage up/down.”

“The twin room (bunk beds) is the biggest room. It costs a little more but I hear the double bed rooms are much smaller. It is at the front of the house so it could be considered the loudest room but I really enjoyed it.”
