I was in Tokyo for the first time, and Tateshina Hotel was my new home in Tokyo. Reception was very correct, even when I stay in the lobby because of internet chatting. BUT... there was no connection via wifi in my room (my phone found the net but no connection to Internet. The computers in the lobby has no microfone....

Thank you for a stay with us. I'm sorry for wireless internet connection on Anex 2nd floor. After I check it, there must be over working in the wireless access point. Now it recovered as well. We provide two computer with high-speed internet access in a lobby floor for our customer. It's a free of charge to use it for...

I was looking for somewhere in a convenient location but at a cheap price. This hotel met that and was one of the better `business` hotels I`ve stayed in.

Very helpful and kind reception staff! We were on holiday in Tokyo for a week, and I am most happy about the personalised service provided. The hotel staff were patient in giving useful tips and advice on the places we were visiting. Rooms are very well kept and clean. My only problem was that one of the double room was...

Thank you for a stay with us. We're very happy to hear that your family have a good time with us. We have only one double sized bedroom with us, so the other room is a little small for 2 adults to share one bed each other.(Semi-double bed: 120cm wide and 203cm long). Nexy time I recommend you to have...

This hotel made my Tokyo trip worthwhile and it's situated in a really good location in central Tokyo. The staff are super helpful and the rooms are well kept and good enough for the solo traveler.

Staff were all ever so friendly and helpful, location was great - easy walk to Shinjuku and to subway to get everywhere else. Rooms are clean and comfy, which is all you really need in Tokyo as you'll only be in them to sleep!

Tokyo can be very expensive, and when we imagine 'cheap' accommodation, the images are not always positive. We hear horror stories of ghastly hotels, with tiny rooms that stink of smoke. However, this place is good for the money. There's nothing fancy, but has all the basics you need. The room was quiet though a bit small, but this is...

Thank you for a stay with us. We have a tiny room as you wrote, and a breakfast costs JPY840 per person. So you may feel it expensive for value. We always try to keep friendly service for our guest. Thank you for a comment for us. Nobuo Yanagisawa(Mr), Hotel Tateshina

This hotel is ok, quite affordable for Tokyo and in a central location near Shinjuku Station. They provide detailed instructions on how to walk there from the station, it is down a small laneway but Tokyo is very safe so it's fine. The rooms are very small but most are in Tokyo! And for the price they are decent. Staff...

Booked it through "Hostelworld" who had the best rates and was easy to compare with other hostels/inns. We were across the street from the Gay district and several blocks east of Shinjuku station, just past Kabukicho. There is a coin laundry place one block away and 7-Elevens/other konbiniya. It's a bit of a walk from JR Shinjuku station East but...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
