We stayed for 3 nights, the moment we step into the room we feel so warm & stuffy. It was a nightmare for us, we has difficulties to get into sleep, no ventilation at all. The windows cannot be opened. We are sweating terribly in the middle of the night. The staffs are kind & friendly but they couldnt do...

I took part in the Tokyo marathon and chose this hotel because of its location right at the start (and because of it's reasonable pricing). I arrived at 11 but were told that I could not get a room before 2 (hard after travelling about 20hours but think that may be practise since also my friends who stayed in a...

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and convenient hotel around Shinjuku area with reasonable prices, this is it. Though space is limited in this hotel room, it has a comfortable bed, with in-room internet access, convenient and walking distance to the Shinjuku JR station, lots of eateries along the way and restaurants are also available in the hotel...

Good location a few blocks from Shinjuku train station. Small room; coathangers but no shelf space. Free internet by cable (no wlan). It seems I had to turn on the tv to get an internet connection. 6000 Yen per day seems inexpensive. No breakfast included, though.

The only good thing I can say of this hotel is that it has free Internet! It is a 10min walk underground to the train station. Otherwise there is nothing around that area to eat or see. Rooms are really dark and small with barely enough space to walk around, much less place our luggage. If I were them I...

I have stayed at the Washington quite a few times when there have been offers in Jalan. I have always had a good sized room at a great rate. However, I have quite a few friends that have stayed there and said the rooms were tiny. I don't know if it's the way I booked or luck, but it's worked...

I stayed at at room 0721 of the main building from 26 Dec 2011 - 4 Jan 2012. I only came to know about the stuffy, hot and tiny window in the room after I paid in full. Indeed, the room was so stuffy when I arrived. The air-con controller does not work too! I immediately requested the staff to...

This is really not an awful hotel. It is a good, fairly cheap option for someone looking for a hotel close to everything and can live with a few inconveniences. We stayed in a twin room for four nights. - Yes, it smells like smoke everywhere. We chose a smoking room because the entire hotel smells like smoke and we...

We just spent 5 nights over Christmas in this hotel and didn't like it at all. I don't mind the small room because after all....it's Japan. The problem was that although you could turn the heating off the room would not cool down. It was like a sauna in there. Truly unbearable. No windows to open. Can you imagine trying...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
