I was very surprised by all the reviews about how great the location of the hotel is. While it's true that one can walk into central Shinjuku or take the hotel shuttle, it was still a good 15 minute walk or 10 minute drive there. So it's not like it's literally right next door.... And while this is also a...

The stellar reputation didn't disappoint: the Park Hyatt Tokyo provided a memorable weekend stay for my family of four, including two kids, 10 and 6. Yes, it's known as a place for adults, couples and business people, but the attentive staff was very friendly to my kids. You have to get used to the level of service--- you sort of...

My family and I, including my wife and two children (ages 12 and 14) stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo as part of a 2 day New Year's layover on our way back to the U.S. from Southeast Asia. The property is amazing, occupying several upper floors with amazing views of the city skylines. Our room on the 44th floor...

With 360 degree views from gym with full-line of equipment; bright skylined swimming pool in which i could walk in shoulder height water for core muscle strengthening coupled with elegant, modern with clean lines in the room; it felt like relaxing on top of the world. The breakfast on its high floor has varied high quality selections. Try the Japanese...

I have stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo 5 times in 5 years and have to say that it never disappoints. If anything, the service (always excellent) has become even better. The rooms are immaculate and the service superb. It is pricey, but worth the money. Drinks on the 41st or top floor bars are not to be missed. Again,...

After spending 3 nights there, on the Mt. Fuji side, my wife and I can add to the accolades. It is quiet, luxurious, very attentive staff and beautifully appointed. What I can add to the other reviews is how remarkable the artwork is both in the public spaces as well as in each room. It apparently was collected from all...

The Park Hyatt Tokyo has always been our favorite every time we are in Tokyo... for many reasons - stunning views, impressive facilities, great swimming pool and gym, simple decor, attentive service, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, etc. Glad to say that PHT met our expectations and exceeded them! The issues we had were quickly ironed out, last minute reservation at...

We travel often and we always return to the Park Hyatt Tokyo. The rooms are stunning, with a modern Japanese decor. Quite beautiful and very classy. The marble bathrooms are our favorite of any hotel we have stayed at. And you can't beat the views. The Hotel is so high in the sky you can see Mt. Fuji and all...

My wife and I travelled to Tokyo twice in 2014 and we stayed at Park Hyatt on both occasions. Tokyo is fascinating place for a holiday - and Park Hyatt hotel rooms are perfect. In terms of value - we think it's worth it, due to location and other facilities. Make sure you make use of their shuttle service, and...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
