My family has gone to this hotel for a number of years for New Years. We love the pool at the top of the hotel where on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji. We have often seen Mt. Fuji from our room when waking up. The hotel is modern, clean, bathrooms are large with a t.v. to settle...

Outstanding Hotel. Reception is on the 41st floor as the rooms run from 41 to 50. I was on the 49th floor and the view was terrific. It seemed all of Tokyo was visible below. The rooms are comfortable and done in very good taste. Has all you need and desire in a room. The pool is not to be...

Courtesy of the "Lost in Translation" movie The Park Hyatt in Tokyo has become a stomping ground for tourists to stop by for a cocktail @ The New York bar on the 52nd floor. The bar hosted the famous scenes between Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansen and has admiring skyline views of Tokyo City - worthy for a tipple pit...

This place is definitely one of the best hotels I ever visited. We stayed there one night, we had a PARK VIEW KING room with an amazing view on the city. We enjoyed the New York Bar, the wellness center and swimming pool, and the great breakfast. Service was extremely nice and we had a really great stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a 19 day holiday in Japan. The weather wasn't great but we were more than happy to spend time in the hotel. Service was fantastic and we had lunch in the restaurant while our room was made up. We had a great room size with a lovely walk through bathroom. Everything...

Hello everyone, Stayed one night in a view room on mt Fuji side. Part of our in-Japan honeymoon. I already had the opportunity to stay in PHT last year for business for about a week. I came back with the same joy! Of course this is probably the best hotel in Tokyo, nothing to say in the quality of the...

I was an exchange student for the Rotary Club from LA when I went to Japan the first time in 1964. There were no high rises except for Tokyo Tower! We stayed at the Palace hotel and traveled from Tokyo to Nagoya with my host family on their fabulous train system. I was in absolute shock when I returned to...

This is one of my new favorite hotels. We were met at the ground level and accompanied all the way up to check-in on the 41st floor. The rooms are located on the 42nd to 51st stories of a beautiful modern highrise, perfectly located near many attractions. The views from the rooms are nothing short of spectacular. I favor the...

This hotel lives up to all expectations and exceeds them by a mile! The views from the hotel are spectacular! The Peak Lounge, the NY Bar, the restaurants....all have excellent views! I was given a complimentary upgrade to a Park Deluxe room (as a Diamond), and had beautiful views of the city and (on clear mornings) a view of Mount...

This place is really fantastic. The entry was a bit strange in an office building. If you take the train to the area there is a shuttle from the station but until someone shows you the stop or if you can read in Japanese it's hard to find. Once you're in the hotel, the bars are fun, great music in...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
