I booked this Hotel to assist with visiting a relative living at trendy nearby Kazguraka. I was surprised to find this hotel the best ever choice for some time in hotels. The Hotel reminds me of the Sir Stamford in Sydney. Oppulence, charm and huge rooms and trendy stunning bathrooms. The service, shuttle and position is perfect for tourists wanting...

The hotel is located in the vicinity of a student town - a less chaotic area of Tokyo. Check-in was very quick and efficient, nice welcome by staff. All staff encountered were very discreet, well-trained and professional. The hotel room was slightly on the dated side, but very clean and spacious. They were also very big by Japanese standards. The...

The RR is just 2 stations away from Shinjuku Station. Situated in the area of the Waseda University, it is less busy and chaotic than other areas in Tokyo. Like al student cities, it has an relaxed atmosphere. We were checked in by Mr Sakurai. Very efficient and swift, yet friendly and welcoming. He walked us to our room and...

The Rihga Royal does European opulence in a manner which Europe has largely forgotten. It has a stunning lobby with immense plate-glass windows giving straight onto the Otuma garden; it is decorated throughout with good reproductions of French baroque and rococo art; its breakfast buffet brings together the best of Japanese and Western cuisine; its bedrooms come with elegant nightshirts...

Nice hotel but was really annoyed a few times. Swimming pool and spa wasn't open at all(I stayed for 4 nights). Also on 2 different nights we wanted to have some drinks in the bar but were told that we couldn't as there was no room for us. That is not normal or right. A disgrace! Had breakfast once and...

We were satisfied with our 5 night stay here especially for the price. The hotel had a sophisticated decor that reminded me of the hotel that inspired Disney World's (Orlando) Tower of Terror (without the cobwebs and all around gloomy vibe). The attendants were very nice and our room was very spacious. We only found a handful of channels on...

This hotel made a good first impression, with a spacious, very clean lobby and fairly efficient check-in. The positive impression continued once I got to the room, which was very comfy and spacious - not something you necessarily expect in Japanese hotels. Amenities included tea and coffee service, minibar, robes, kimonos, slippers, everything basically that one would expect at this...

My first visit to Japan was extremely enhanced by our stay at the RIHGA Royal. A bit off the central Tokyo location, but such a welcoming home base to return to on each excursion. Plentiful space, abundant amenities, luxurious bathroom, and gorgeous garden views along with Tokyo skyline make it an ideal stay. We had one rainy day that we...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
