Stayed here for 2 nights with my family and we had the family room with just the tatamis (futons). It's our first time to experience sleeping in that and it's surprisingly comfortable. Room is spacious enough for four adults and very well-maintained. There's a private restroom inside which is good!! We had the corner room and the bad side is...

This is good location to stay and visit Tokyo! We went to Tokyo last year and stayed here for three days. All things are simple but good enough for us. If we come back Tokyo then we will stay here again.

They have a good location. Room is basic with no table or chair. You can get free water from the kitchen and use their facilities. You only get futon beds which for those who are not used to this type may have a hard time. It was ok but I don't think I will go back.

Very good location and a good price. As most of us now, hotels in Tokyo are not that cheap, so we were happy that we found this one. It is basic (small bedroom, thin futons on the floor, Japanese style) but at the same time you get a lot: free toiletries, a spacious living room with tv, free laundry, a...

Flooded kitchen in basement where the staff were cooking their own lunch Steep steep steps Communal shower shared with their laundry. Doors to bedroom don't quite close as they are flexible and thin. The only outdoor area is covered in hotel laundry. Bathroom fit for a mouse. No toto, as in, no Japanese toilet seat. Of course, no refund. Lovely...

The room is very basic. They have a bath room and a separate toilet in the room. The hotel is located in a small alley. Make sure you print the map before going as you might miss the hotel the first time. I don't recommend kids or only ladies staying here. I find the surrounding with too many games/gambling and...

We booked rather last minute for a weekend stay and all the affordable hotels in Shibuya and Shinjuku were booked out, so Haru Hotel was our best option. It is very close to Shin-Okubo as well as Okubo station, which is only 1 stop from Shinjuku and ca. 15min from Shibuya by train. The area itself is really nice and...

Stayed here in august 2015 as my son wanted to experience sleeping on futons on tatami mats. The room was basic as traditional hotels are! We had a main room with a little room off it, as there were 4 of us. A toilet, separate shower room and a little cupboard to hang clothes, which was just big enough as...

Three of us stayed here in a family room (en suite) for a couple of nights. Location was really good, up a narrow, quiet street, but very close to a train station, various Asian restaurants (based in the Korean quarter), and a few other bars (and a dress up karaoke place around the corner!). Staff were quiet but friendly (though...

The hotel is well located from Shinjuku station. If you want to explore Shinjuku, Shubuya & Harajuku this could be one of your best option. The nearest train station is Shin-Okubo, about 8 minutes walk from the station and it is only 1 stop from Shinjuku station which is about 3mins & cost JPY140 for 1 adult - details in...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
