We stayed at Citadines Shinjuku for 5 nights over 2 weeks and were quite impressed. The rooms are HUGE by Japanese standards and very well equipped with lounge and kitchenette facilities (stove, microwave, sink).  The property is situated in a great location close to metro stations, convenience and department stores. We stayed during Typhoon Phanfone and the extra space and...

We stayed at the Citadines for 4 nights, our tour operator booked it so we dont know what we paid, but it was one of our favourites during our 16 day stay in Japan. It was the only hotel that had decent pillows and comfortable beds. The rooms are modern and well designed, they are compact but we had more...

Hotel is near Shinjuku Gyoenmae station. Go out from exit 2, Turn left, then left at the corner (you can see the convenience store Family mart), walk all the way straight along the road about 450 meters until you reach a T-junction road. Turn right and you will see 7-11 store. Citadines is located beside that. There is a coin...

Citadines Shinjuku is in a cracking location, just a short walk from the craziness of Shinjuku itself. Only a few steps from Shinjuku Gyoemmae metro station. Staff helpful and English spoken. Make use of the fact that you have a little kitchen in the room as breakfast is a tad eclectic. Would recommend it for a few nights as a...

Chose this hotel after reading through alot of the reviews as I needed a room for 3. The location of the hotel is about 10 - 15mins walk to Shinjuku by foot, and easily accessible through the subway by either Shinjuku sanchome or Shinjuku gyoemmae station. The room itself is spacious, with loads of space for you to store your...

After spending alot of time researching hotels in Tokyo I decided on the Citadines for our family of four (children 15 & 12 years ) for our 8 night stay in Tokyo. It was an excellent choice our two interconnecting rooms were very well appointed, alot of thought has been put into making the room work well. The laundry was...

The citadines is a modern hotel located 10 minutes walk from bustling shinjuku. the staff is super friendly, the room is nice and comfortable and (the one I had at least) feels like a small studio, with lounge area and mini kitchen, other than having a supercomfy bed. It's located in a quite area rich of local eatieries, and a...

I loved the efficiency of the room. It was small, yet well laid out and filled with all of the amenities that you need. There is a small kitchen set up with an electric burner, microwave, refrigerators, dishes, kitchen utensils, coffee maker, iron, and in room safe. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with directions and suggestions. I will...

Recommended by a friend, Citadines Shinjuku was an excellent choice for me. I had a self-catering room that was clean and quiet with everything I could need - including a very comfy bed. Well located and with brilliant service, I'll be staying here again on my next trip to Japan.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
