We came here on a Saturday late afternoon after riding the Shinkansen from Kobe where we disembarked from our week-long Princess cruise of Japan. It was about a 10 minute taxi ride from the Shinjuku Station. The front desk receptionist we checked in with had very good English. There was good wifi in the lobby and in our rooms. The...

Central location – near beautiful park - walking distance to Shinjuku Station (10 min. once you know where to go) – be prepared to get lost – modern spacious room on the 11th floor – lots of closet space – fancy TOTO toilets (bidet/rear end flush/heated lid etc.) – good/firm beds – duvet covers – fully equipped kitchen – good...

The location is good. The price per night is extremely high and in my opinion, does not justify the level of services you get. The breakfast is really poor, and all other services are pretty basic. If it wasn't so close to where I work, I wouldn't choose this hotel. If price will become more reasonable, it would surely be...

I had a great time during my 6 night stay. Room was spacious for 3, considering I was staying in the heart of Tokyo - everyone knows about Japanese tiny rooms! Checking in was a breeze. I called front desk thrice for help - each time I was attended to quickly and staff could understand English. Location is a good...

All good, from amenities to staff kindness and cleaning status, but breakfast is very sad. More, the hotel has a good position, 10 min walk from subway. Also the room size is good, and it is not easy to find it in Japan.

The staff all spoke a little English so it was easy to communicate. Easy check in service and amazing facilities make this hotel great value. Definitely will stay again. Very big for a Japanese style room, has everything you need for a stay here. We were able to buy breakfast and make it at home which definitely cuts the cost...

About 600m from Shinjuku-Gyoenmae station, these apartments are spacious by Japanese standards. The basin was outside the small bathroom, which was useful for us (2 women sharing a twin room). The beds were comfortable and staff extremely helpful.

It's not the Ritz Carlton, but then it doesn't claim to be. The Ascot Citadines Shinjuku is an honest, relaxed and value for money apartment establishment that is a hop, skip and jump away from everything in Shinjuku. About a 10 minute walk from the main Shinjuku station ( but only a few minutes from Shinjuku Goenmae subway), with a...

This place was ideal for a 5 night stay to explore Tokyo. It had a great location close enough to Shinjuku station but in a quiet area down the road from the neon and noise. We found the staff to be very friendly on our arrival and throughout our stay. Although it wasn't luxury, the room was spacious, very clean...

We spent 5 nights here, the apartment was modern, clean and comfortable with generous supplies of items for the kitchen and bathroom. The important point is the strategic location, lots of dining options around and easy to get around. Would definitely recommend and stay again on our next visit to Japan.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
