Thank you for staying with us here at APA HOTEL 〈Shibuya Dougenzakaue〉and your review. We are glad you liked our hotels and services. As you mention, we APA HOTELs have many branches in Tokyo and almost all the cities in Japan. Our room is little compact but we try our best to satisfy our guests by putting varieties of amenitiy and a large TV and bed. Thank you for your review and we hope that we have the opportunity to serve you again. Nakamura / Receptionist

Our 3rd visit to Tokyo, and I'll start off with the room will be even smaller than you expect. Having stayed in many hotels in Japan, and coming with the knowledge that the rooms will be tiny, be in for a shock. Nevertheless rooms are well maintained and cleaned with all the required items. However, the 1 star rating is given for the lack of service, poor attitude, and inability of the front desk staff to assist with anything. No smiles, no greetings when we walk in and out. They look like they absolutely hate working at APA. Hopefully management will look into the 2 ladies and one man working at the reception desk on Saturday 23rd Nov 2019 morning and do some training. They are a poor example of customer service a big let down as everywhere else in Japan that we went we were treated awesomely.

We expected that the room with be super small and compact. But no complain much on the size because they provide everything you need on daily basis. And if you stay right at shibuya are then you will be outside most of the time. We stayed at other hotels in japan and commonly the size are super small. So make sure if you book the double room or small double - MUST travel with someone you are super close with (lover, husband, family) because it does not have any privacy of space or activity including toilet business. Recommend for 2 small luggages and 1 big. Packing in a small space is quite difficult. A solid 10mins walk to shibuya crossing but along both sides of the street have many shops and you would pass by Family Mart, 7eleven and Lawson on the way back to the hotel. Opposite the hotel there is a good ramen shop. If you keep walking towards Shibuya crossing, check out the left turn before MOS Burger, there are lots of nice restaurants like UOBEI sushi, and you can slowly walk to Shibuya center with a nice atmosphere. Other things I like about the hotel: have hot and cold water, fast water, have warm heater, TV have BBC english, good location. Provide 2 bottle of water per day. Daily clean up and change of towels. Things I dont like: unfriendly and careless service - the frontdesk wont even try to help even you ask so dont expect that they will go extra step of showing Japanese hospitality. Pillows are flat as pancake -no kidding. Carpet are not clean. The aircon cooling system does not work well, so best to turn it off and sleep with natural air if you are hot, it will be much cooler. Like every Japanese hotels, strict with check in/out time. Check out is at 11am or flex to 11.30 If pass 1 minute they will charge you 1000 Yen. The vending machines at the hotel only have cold drinks like green tea and other tea. No milk tea. For the price that we paid, we regret that we could pay a little bit more to stay at Tokyu Stay a little further down.

Horrible hotel, horrible attention, expensive, nothing good. The smallest room in the world. People who work in the hotel don't help you with anything. The price is too high for this crapy place. I'll never recommend someone to stay here

Thank you for staying with us here at APA HOTEL〈Shibuya Dougenzakaue〉and your review. We apologize that our hotel and the customer service did not meet your expectations. Upon booking hotel had made additional note that we would not be arriving until late as flight not landing until 10.50pm. Apparently this note was not acknowledged as on the way to Shibuya upon setting up travel router i received an email advising rooms would be cancelled if not there by midnight (it was 00.20 at this point eek!) any way rang the hotel thankfully their english way way better than my Japanese! and all was ok the rooms were not cancelled. Booked 4 rooms , 2 doubles & 2 semi doubles. Fair to say the semi-doubles are not as small as a single but neither as big as our double beds in size so make sure you're ok to cozy up to your room buddy! as for the rooms ,erm, compact! everything you need in them but compact! even by Tokyo standards, but hey we were hardly in room only to sleep so didn't compromise our trip however lived out of my suitcase for the 4 days as no where to put clothes & was not even able to leave case flat as obstructing door & there was literally no where else to leave it. Also bed up against wall so my cousin had to climb out over me to get out. Ditto what other reviewer said about pillows, reckon a magazine in a pillowcase would have provided more comfort! thankfully i had my travel pillow so used that. On the plus, room was serviced everyday, good essentials provided free (shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, razor etc) , bottles of water, AC, & like the under desk fridge. Reception staff were friendly & efficient. All in all I would book again as the location was just spot on, near the scramble crossing (walking distance arox 5 mins), its not an upmarket hotel & doesn't profess to be, it is however a better than budget , budget hotel!

10 night stay here while visiting Tokyo for the Rugby World Cup. Unfortunately we left it quite late to book the Tokyo leg of our journey and available options were very limited. We chose this place due to its location and the fact that it had availability for all ten nights We knew we were getting a budget hotel (although it’s not that cheap!) The location is great, only a 5 minute stroll from shibuya crossing. There are a huge number of restaurants, bars and convenience stores nearby (although I’m sure this is true for almost every hotel in Tokyo) The room was cleaned and re-supplied with towels and toiletries every day, and on days when we were late leaving the room, a bag with all the supplies was left by the door for us. Daily bottles of water too. Check in was quite straightforward. Staff were friendly and had good English The rooms are hilariously small. If you’ve got big cases then be prepared to do a lot of climbing over things to be able to get in and out of the bed or bathroom The pillow is the thinnest thing I have ever seen. It may as well not have been on the bed. If you’re tall, you might well reach the far wall while lying in bed. In short, don’t bank on a decent night’s sleep The room also gets extremely warm and stuffy overnight, so we had to leave the air conditioning on which was loud and left us both with dry throats and coughs There’s nowhere to sit in the lobby which is frustrating if you’re trying to meet people, particularly when there’s only one lift that you regularly need to wait about 10 minutes for No safe in the room Shower curtain doesn’t work, bathroom floor gets soaked every time the shower is used Would only stay here again if I was completely stuck

When we first arrived at this hotel, I was ready to leave - no amount of Trip Advisor reviews can prepare you for how ridiculously small the room is (even by Tokyo standards). After along flight from the UK, jet lag and with two big suitcases, I was at my wits end! Whilst not perfect however, it did grow on me over the time of our stay (8 days) in room 1205 on the 12th floor. Negatives: - size of room - really. Severe lack of room for 2 adults and 2 big suitcases. - lack of space for clothes - living out of the suitcase (which you can’t open to get into - see point 1) - bed against wall, meaning you can’t get out of bed without climbing over your partner. - if you have a shower, it will soak the bathroom floor. Shower curtain not sufficient. - only 1 lift in the whole place. - the hotel will not call to book restaurants etc for you, which is a shame - marks all over walls, including drips (coffee?!), and peeling wallpaper Positives: - Excellent location, close to scramble crossing. - Air con in room - Shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, hairdryer provided in room; along with things you may have forgotten - such as a toothbrush, razor etc. An iron can be borrowed from the front desk. - Coin operated laundry on the 2nd floor - Fridge in room - nice deep bathtub - service from guy at front desk - service from cleaners. If you don’t want your room cleaned, they will leave you clean towels etc in a bag outside the door. Fresh bottles of water every day.

We stayed @Apa cause of the close proximity to the famous crossing and station which is about 10 mins walking.Very easy to get to and from Narita airport. The room is quite small as mentioned on their website,so if you have a large suitcases & need space to walk around then it will be a tight squeeze especially for two adults. The room is very well equipped everything you need is available, the cleaning service and replacement of amenties was excellen. They place everything outside your room if you have put your disturb sign. My only complaint would be the washing machine is useless and the dryer takes ages to dry the clothese, butthere are loads of laundry places within a walking distance. If u are not staying in the room most of the time then this is a good choice considering how central the location is !

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice in the last couple of years, it’s clean and comfortable. The rooms are small, but this is standard in Tokyo. It’s good value for money as it’s a short walk from Shibuya Crossing and train station. There’s also a good coffee shop nearby. We had breakfast included but didn’t really like it. The staff are fantastic, very accommodating and so helpful for whatever we needed. Overall, a good hotel that we will continue to stay in for years to come.

Location of the hotel is perfect - less than 10mins walking distance from main Shibuya area and shops. Loads of cool restaurants, cafes and supermarkets right next to the hotel. Yes the rooms are small but have everything you need. Wouldn't recommend to anyone looking to spend lots of time in the room but definitely book this hotel if you're after somewhere to shower and sleep and spend your days and nights exploring Tokyo.
