This was my first trip to Tokyo and I picked the hotel based on other reviews regarding the location and the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can add the cost of breakfast to your stay and eat at the cafe attached to the hotel. I did this for one day and had the best America-style pancake. I booked a single room, and as I expected, it was economical in space, but the space was not wasted. The bed was comfortable. Pajamas and slippers are provided. The hotel is convenient to a couple of different train stations, but the Kanda station is the closest (I found the other station accidentally when I went right instead of left and got lost. Oops). I would definitely stay here again.
Its nearby Kanda Station so if you prefer a quieter neighbourhood at night , its one of the cheaper options. Also has free coffee and lemonade at the lobby if you want to save some drinks at night 0_0
I must tell you that the staff at Grand Central Hotel are amazing. I had a very nasty allergic reaction and needed some medical attention. The staff immediately rang around and found me a medical centre who could see me ASAP. Then Taku Oba-San from front desk not only escorted me to medical centre, he translated for me with the doctor and nurses and then took me to the pharmacy and helped me buy the medication I was prescribed. I was so grateful and feel so much better. Thank you This is a great hotel, lovely restaurant and has a smoking area for us nasty smokers! GCH is a great hotel in the business district so it’s a bit of a walk to see the sights but if you like to walk then it’s fine!
Stayed here last year with my family and decided we would stay again as i enjoyed where it was located. Location is great - maybe a 10min walk from Kanda station. Kanda appears to be more a business people district. Soon as you leave the station there are plenty of small bars and food options including nearby family marts, 7 elevens and lawsons. Not ideal for those who want to be right in the thick of the commotion and hustle and bustle. So was great for me as i didnt want to be. Could be ideal for lighter sleepers in this case as there was not much noise. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Available 24/7 it seems. There is an option for a change of pillow type at reception which was fantastic! Note that there is only 1 key per room which you have to leave at the front desk whenever you venture out. It was a good price for the 6 nights we were staying. No breakfast included but there is a pronto cafe connected to it that you can have a decent breakfast at. Coffee wasnt too bad and available to go. The hotel itself isnt the most updated technology wise and isnt one of the modern new age ones that the APA ones offer. But its still comfortable and had all my needs. Laundry service we used was exceptional and easy to use. Bag all your laundry, write down each item (its pay per item), leave it at the front desk by 9am and its ready for you by 7:30pm. Each item is ironed, folded neatly and placed in individual bags which was a feature my partner and i loved. Room service was daily and they would leave a note for you regarding room service options if you have a do not disturb sign. The room - we got a double bed smoking room. Room was clean, had a nice small fridge, aircon and you were provided 2 types of slipper options. Although didnt love the top sheet on the bed. Bath tub/shower was a bit of a safety issue. When stepping in and out of it or stepping in a different area, the bath tub would move, which was a worry. Air con didnt sit at a nice temperature, would get really hot to really cold and vuce versa quite quickly. Could be the gauge? Note you would generally be allowed to sit between 20-30 degrees. All in all another great stay and would recommend it to my family and friends.…
1. Location is excellent - 3 minute walk to JR Kanda station (JR lines & JR Yamanote line and Tokyo Subway Ginza Line), one train stop away from Tokyo Station (for Shinkansen lines), 5 min walk to Awajicho Subway Station (Marunouchi Line) 2. Huge number of dining choices - Restaurant street is like 1 block away, and there is a whole row of restaurants along the JR Kanda railway tracks 3. at least 3 convenience stores within a 1 minute walk from the hotel 4. Rooms are compact but comfortable, with reliable hot running water and toto washlet toilets, airconditioning is good and strong 5. Hotel has luggage forwarding service aka Yamato Transport's Takkyubin service, great for when you are travelling to Kyoto/Osaka, remember to give an allowance of 2 days for your luggage to reach your next destination. Prices are reasonable. Upshot is you save yourself the hassle of lugging your bulky luggage all the way to Tokyo station to catch the Shinkansen 6. The hotel room rates are very reasonable for the facilities and amenities provided in the room. Highly recommended…
We are giving this hotel 5 stars. It isn't a 5 star hotel but for us it can't be faulted. The room was small but we knew that because we had done our research. If you a heavy/tall person it might not be for you. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. As for the shower, you won't find a better one. Location was excellent. Loved our time here
A very convenient location in the center of the city, only few minutes walking distance from JR Kanda Station, which can access to other parts of Tokyo easily. There are many working people passing by all days and nights so the area is also safe at night. There are also many small izakaya style shops nearby the hotel and station for for those who are craving for foods late at night. The hotel is clean and the front office staff are very friendly and able to communicate in English. I would come back any stay here again.
Wow what a lovely hotel with EXTREMELY helpful staff. Great location - within walking distance of Kanda station so easy to get to by train from airport. Lovely coffee etc on reception and I love the fact we even have a choice of pillow! X
great location, walking distance from train station and places to eat and drink. staffs are very nice and helpful. a few minutes walk to akihabara, one of the places to see that is highly recommended.
Stayed here as part of our honeymoon for a couple of days - was a great location for walking around Tokyo. Good restaurants and cafes nearby lots of choice. Also good cafe in the hotel which was good for breakfast. Room was maybe a bit small however was clean and was fine for a couple of days. Staff were helpful.
