We really didn't spend much time in our room, or the hotel, because of everything we were doing in Tokyo. However, our room was very nice and the location was great. Very close to one of the JR train lines, which we used a lot to go all over town. Also easy to head to the airport when we left....

This is a great hotel for any occasion. Quiet location, really comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurant. 5-15 minute walk to the best subway stations, which may seem inconvenient to some. The local neighborhood has great restaurants and the concierge, especially Yuriko, is amazing. She helped us get reservations at some top, hard to access places.

I have stayed here numerous times over the last 5 years (at least). Hotel Niwa Tokyo maintains a very high standard of service, cleanliness and comfort. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully designed, blending traditional Japanese elements with modern touches. Staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. There are no extraneous features that would increase the price (e.g., 24 hr...

Stayed at Hotel Niwa Tokyo for six nights and check in to check out was an excellent experience. Great service, good location with several subway stations within walking distance. Located in a quiet business and school district and less than 10 min walk to the Tokyo Dome. Accomodations are simple yet full of details, very clean rooms and of decent...

The hotel was so nice, reasonably priced. Excellent size. All the extra little touches were perfect. Coffee/ tea/bottled water daily. All toiletries supplied. Very courteous service. Very clean hotel. Comfortable king size bed. Convenient to trains and taxis. The only down point was the restaurant. Extremely over priced with extremely small portions ( even compared to "American" sized meals). We...

Last here 2 years ago. Still a great location and clean, comfortable rooms. Staff are helpful. Short walk from Suidobashi on the Chuo line, and easy access to most central Tokyo. Selection of local restaurants in an easy walk, or a more international (& hence to my mind more boring) group of eateries up by Tokyo Dome. Sadly Sterling FX...

We cannot say enough about our wonderful stay at Hotel Niwa! The room amenities were superb- the comfy cotton pajamas, slippers, in-room coffee and tea, high-tech toilette, and the beautiful decor with textured wall coverings, sliding screen shades, and all quiet and comfortable. Staying in Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
