I have stayed here on every business trip due to proximity to some offices. The staff come off as robots. It's not an insult, I promise - it's just that they really do not have anything to offer other than your room. They will reject anything out of the ordinary, which is understandable. However, this takes away the service aspect of hospitality, and if there is only the handover of room keys to perform then what makes them any different than a machine. Ok end rant. Environment: There are convenient stores around the block. Very close to metro stations. Cleanliness: Great! Room comfort: Tiny room, tiny bathroom, but that's the norm in Tokyo. Amenities: Minimal Breakfast: Quite delicious but it's the same thing everyday. View: No view. There is a laundry room there for folks like me who stay there for a longer period. You must get in line and don't leave the laundry machines, otherwise people will steal your spot. If you have a bit of extra budget, go somewhere else. This hotel is for the absolute minimalist who really couldn't care less about the experience of a hotel stay. You get in and you get out. Also probably not for the shopping crew since space is limited, you can't really store your stuff here. If I had to sum it up while being positive, the biggest advantage of Tosei Cocone is convenience. It's close to everything.…
1) I was woken up on my first morning here around 7:50am due to the construction RIGHT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW. No one warned me when checking in. Funny thing is the reception lady asked if I’m checking out early on the day I leave, and I said yes. But I’m also staying here 3 nights... so I guess my sleep just doesn’t matter to them. 2) In a country full of yes’s (hai), this hotel is full of no’s. I asked if the reception could make a phone call for me to schedule a shuttle bus for my day trip the next day, the same lady with a Singaporean accent looked at the webpage on my phone and said “We can’t call from our phone. You can use the public telephone outside on the street.” When I explained that I don’t think they will understand me on the other side of the line due to language barrier, she said “The website is in English so I think they probably will.” Lol and they didn’t really and I had a hard time communicating with them over the public phone. Also when I called reception from my room to ask if they had scissors, they said yes but I can only use it in the reception area. Don’t except any sort of Omotenashi here. 3) This is fairly minor but when I asked about printing, they told me to email it to them. I did and specified both in my email headliner and the email itself that I only needed the 2nd page of the 2 page document. When I went to collect the printed page, they had printed both and then said it was 10 yen per page. I would have appreciated a heads up that printing wasn’t free (because I had left my coin purse in my room) and also, did you even read my email? The only good thing about this hotel is the room size, but it’s not like I really got to enjoy it given that they gave me a room right by rooftop construction next door. If you are considering a business hotel in this price range, I recommend the APA chain instead. This is my 4th trip to Japan and I’ve stayed in hotels for around 100 nights total, and never have I gotten so worked up over a Japanese hotel experience as this one.…
Coffee and pillows were available. All the time i stayed there in fact. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Near enough in kanda station. We'ed always go to tokyo station for restaurants and spot visits. Smoking area is outside hotel and 2pm to 10pm only..otherwise great value for money...and bfast is healthy=)
Room though small but clean. Close enough to the station, lots of restaurants & convience stores nearby. But that's about it. Read reviews about the complimentary coffee machine but it was always out of service. And I start to wonder why it always happen at a specific timing which was in the morning. Answer is simple. My advice to the hotel: if you want to give, pls give willingly & generously. Also read about the pillows which was not available throughout my 5 nights stay, the shelves were empty all the time. I asked the reception but all they can say is "empty means no more". Reception staffs are not friendly but housekeeping staffs were great. Overall, it was an acceptable stay for the price I paid but I'm sure you can find a better hotel in terms of service elsewhere.
Great hotel to stay close to JP Tokyo Station. It is a very good hotel which offers great value for money. Hotel offered complimentary breakfast as well. Hotel was neat and clean and staff spoke good english language.
I just checked in to the hotel. Hotel is recommended by my family member. We booked 3 rooms for 5 paxs(2/2/1). Unlike many of the hotels that I stayed in my this trip to Japan, they are very rude in their response. We are here to visit our relatives in Japan. So they accompanied us to check in. As mentioned to them they will not be staying at the hotel but then they treated our guest as though as they were thieves. We understand their concerns of hotel policies. But means of communication is nothing close of a hotel. Understand that this is not a 5 star hotel but there is min. Expectation of a hotel. We asked to speak with the hotel manager but he/she was claimed to be on the line and never came to us. I am still staying here and another 3 more days to go. I am very unhappy with the front desk. Anyway the room is very small that even 2 luggages can barely fit in. I am not sure they can even fit in other people in our room.…
Everything is spick & span they clean everyday Staffs are nice & helpful when we arrived the rain was heavy they provided us hand towels. We love the free hot & cold beverage you can get yourself anytime u want . Lots of restaurants 7/11 nearby . Rooms & beds are bigger compared to other 3 star hotel ( we had 3 rooms ) . CON it Is a bit confusing where you will go after you exit Kanda station ( west exit ) since the only information they provided was 4 min away from west exit . Right in front of the west exit take the 2nd street on your left & walk for 2 to 3 min then cross again right side . in about 1 or 2 min you will find the hotel
For one of the best prices on booking sites, I decided to give it a try. I had zero knowledge on which part of Tokyo to book and Kanda was a TOP. The hotel is very close to 7/11, and Lawsons stores, have a small hipster style restaurant on the ground floor and staff that dither speaks excellent English or will at least give their best to help you. Rooms are right, as per Japanese standard, very clean and tidy with everything you would possibly need. I was disappointed that the TV didn't allow casting, but I never saw those anywhere else either. There are extra pillows with different firmness and materials for anyone to exchange or take extras. I was there during the Typhoon and staff kept everyone up to date on the situation and offered assistance when needed. I would also like to mention that due to my negligence I lost my room card/key in the train and without questions asked and extra charges i got the replacement. I would also like to note that rooms have empty fridges and kettle, and other devices (microwave, vending machine that only takes cash and ice machine) are on 4 floor; laundry can be done on 2nd floor.…
This hotel is very cozy. From the moment you enter the lobby, your mind gets relaxed. The hallway feels as though it is a rain forest because of the background sound of the birds chirping. The room is very small. The suitcases were kept almost near the doorway. However, the soothing scent of the room and the comfortable bed will make you forget about the room size. Toiletries are also provided. Tokyo station is about 15 mins of walk from the hotel.
I was attending lectures at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. This hotel is just 15 minutes walk to the university. The check in was very smooth as all the people at the reception desk are quite friendly and can speak English. The reception area is very clean and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms and because I was traveling on my own the size did not matter. The service is quite spectacular, every single day you get fresh pyjamas on your bed, fresh tooth brush and toothpaste. There is a small cafe downstairs where one can have breakfast and lunch ONLY. I never used this service so l cannot comment on it. There is a small fridge that you can use to store your food. The only thing that they did not have was the safe. I am not sure whether this is normal in Japan. I would really recommend this hotel anytime. The nearest Kanda station is just three minutes walk from the hotel and in the station area you can get plenty of restaurants and supermarkets like Seven Eleven. If you need to go shopping Ginza is just two stations away. It is very convenient. …
