Meigetsu Hotel in the relatively quiet suburb of Arakawa ended up being a great spot to spend my three nights in Tokyo. The simple single room guest house was spotlessly clean and was only 25 minutes (despite requiring two train transfers) from the Tokyo Dome. Costing about 3000 yen per night, it was a bargain. While not for the social...

Staff speak in good English and are friendly. For the location, five or ten minutes walk from Minami Senju JR station, the route to hotel may be dark at night, but offer a chance to observe local people's way of life. Nearby there is 24 hours convenient store and supermarket. For the room, it is clean and offer enough space...

The hotel has everything, the kitchen, place to sit, coffee, tea, bathroom, fridge. It is clean hotel with nice staff.Unfortunatelly the room is too small for couple and we were little bit spoiled from our accomodation in Kyoto that was almost for the same price and we had private bathroom and kitchen. First night there were some people packing lot...

Second visit to this hotel and it as good as previous visit. And even upgraded with coffee machine. Only thing is this they should place this coffee machine at kitchen in stead of beside fridge cause the noise while preparing coffee is pretty loud.

Plus: Very clean, nice staff, computers to use, kitchen, table to eat at, washing machine, TV in room, air-con - everything I needed for a short stay and I would consider staying again. I liked it. Minus: Very small room. Mattress not best I have had. Westerners may not like a bean pillow. Can easily hear people outside room as...

This hostel is not 5 minutes walk from nearest station, Minami Senju. With luggage take us 20 minutes to reach the hostel. Without luggage takes us about 7-8 minutes walk. Not really that close to the station as what some people claimed in the comment section. The hostel and staff were ok but the room was too small for us....

I had a good experience with this hotel, although the rooms are rather small. But everything a guest would need, this hotel provides, coffee counter, clean kitchen, they even have a Japanese bath style room. one could even cook food, good for spend thrift tourists, I certainly love the green tea and They even have the so called pop corn...

Stayed here for 9 nights on Dec-Jan. Hotel Meigetsu is located in a residential area. It is quite easy to find the hotel. I prefer taking the train from Minami-Senju station, and the hotel is about 15 minutes walk from there. Surrounding areas have combinis and shops. The room itself is nicely fit for 1 person. Room was clean. There's...

“I'd say Meigetsu is more geared towards people who would want to get away from the bustle of the more busy places like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, etc without being too far away from it.”
