Between Rome and Florence we spent a few days at La Stella on Elba. For starters the price was unreal for such a gorgeous property... the view, the gardens, the sea and the beach. The food at the restaurant was sophisticated and delicious. The baked treats for breakfast and dessert were excellent. The staff was nice and accommodating. We walked down the stairs to the lovely town beach each day, and after a couple hours of intense sun escaped to the shade and spritzes of the lounge chairs in the hotel's garden with a panoramic view. Elba has much to offer, but we felt little need to explore beyond the many charms of La Stella.
this was part of a little tour of the area and we were so excited to stay here, its very easy to find, parking is sheltered and plentiful, our welcome was lovely, our room was part of the main building and had a lovely view of the bay and out to sea, a little balcony, was secure, the bed was comfy, the furniture in my opinion is dated, no tea/coffee facility you had to even buy water! the bathroom was clean although the loo was in the shower and one of those clingy curtains, but hey the view kept us focused, until night, this room was so noisy litrally could hear everything next door and why do people have to move furniture through the night it was noisy till 2am then up at 6! I know this isn't the hotel but the walls are thin breakfast was on a terrace weather dependant or in the dining room, coffee is served to you, we only had cereal as tinned fruit is not my thing and neither is cake but they did look lovely the little beach bit with sunbeds is wonderful, a terrace in the garden with sunbeds too, it has lots of little areas to sit overlooking the sea, the terraced rooms look lovely we ate at the nearby beach bar (not hotels) that wa so lovely and the evening at the resturant nearby but if you like fih this is your place…
This was the first stop for our honeymoon traveling around Elba, Corsica, and Sardinia. We stayed 4 nights here, and easily could have stayed longer, in fact, this was actually the highlight of our trip. The hotel is really charming and romantic, great location, you don't really need to leave the area. We had a room with the balcony which I would suggest. The staff are very welcoming and go that extra step, in fact, Gabriela went above and beyond when a ferry we thought we could catch became unavailable going to Corsica. She helped us get back to the mainland to another ferry port, even driving us part of the way. We are already planning about our next visit. It was perfect on all levels, highly recommend!
Had a room with terrace for 2 nights. Seccheto is lovely with a nice beach and a enough restaurants that you don't need to go elsewhere to eat. Breakfast was a little thin on the choices and not too appetizing at that (cereal was stale and fruit a bit tired) but the view nice. Didn't eat at the on site restaurant but menu was interesting. Small private area with lounge chairs and some shade a nice touch. You're close enough to some of the busier areas nearby to get your people fix and then return. Stand up paddle board rental at 8 euros an hour is a great plus.
the hotel is so romantic!!! we had an amazing long weekend stay. The staff will make you feel like at home. The food is beyond your dreams all fresh and home made, romantic dinners at the terrace looking at the sea, eating fresh past and sea food. Must try breakfast as all the pastry is home made. The rooms have an amazing view looking at the sea, the beach is right next to the hotel and you can walk to others. Its so romantic and we definitely want to visit again.
