I stayed one week in their new apartment, and it was a great experience. It was walking distance to town, the coffee was amazing, breakfast was excellent and the rooms were clean. If you are looking for something modern with great amenities, this is not it. Rooms were basic and comfortable, but not extravagant. How water was a gamble. Overall,...

We stayed one night in this hotel after spending the afternoon at Panajachel and the evening in San Pedro. There was a hammock outside of the rooms that I really wanted to relax in the next day but another guest was already using it. There was wifi in the kitchen which was good. The room was pretty basic but fine....

The Hotel is at the far end of the Lake right on the edge of the water. The rooms are basic but clean and confy. The hotel staff is adorable and aim to please!!! The small village of San Juan is quaint and the towns people are very industrious, and have organized in cooperatives were they do art or crafts....

I had read reviews here and they are all over the map. After staying here I can understand why. This place is a Rorschach. You will see in it what you bring to the table. For those who love the rustic, the serene, you will find it. If you want more modern accommodation this place will frustrate you. When I...

This is the second time I have stayed at Eco Hotel Uxlabil, I was also there in May 2016 - and that's why I wanted to come back with my wife. The locale is excellent, just a short walk from San Juan La Laguna, a non-touristy, culturally interesting village on the shore of Lago Atitlán. Besides its excellent location with...

The people who are at the hotel are very friendly. The hotel is priced very high for the quality. There is no hot water - (actually, it comes and goes, so if your lucky you will have it). The food is very bland and average and getting to town is a very long hike up a steep hill after a...

While the staff are kind, the rest of the place is a flop - do not stay here if you cannot climb down VERY steep stairs, want hot water, or anything you feel should be included when you pay $75 a night in Guatemala. I am not a picky traveler - I usually stay in dorm-rooms in hostels! I wanted...

If you want a truly unique experience in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, then Hotel Uxlabil on Lake Atitlan is for you. Slightly off the beaten path, yet accessible to all the area has to offer, this hotel is run by a Mayan family who go out of their way to make sure you have an...

This is a rustic, middle of nowhere kind-of-place, with its own jetti for lake taxi's. It is very relaxing. The rooms are spacious, each one extends to the balconies with awe-inspiring views and tremendous sunsets. We did very little while there, just soaked up the chilled vibe. The food is good, you can eat there, service a little slow. There...

Because we were having such an excellent stay in Antigua at Hotel y Galeria Uxlabil, my husband and I decided to spend a couple of days at their sister hotel located in San Juan Laguna on Lake Atitlan. This eco-hotel is outstandingly lovely and peaceful and well worth the money! So happy that this place was suggested to us by...
