We visited the orangery for a Valentine's meal. From start to finish it was 5 star! The staff were fantastic from the second we walked through the door. The food was delicious! The night went so smoothly they were very organised and every course was perfect! We will be back again very soon.

Had the most amazing stay at Balbirnie House, the staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We were upgraded on arrival to the most beautiful suite and had the most amazing four course dinner and cocktails followed by breakfast in bed the next day. I would definitely recommend this hotel & I cannot wait to return!

This hotel has hosted a family wedding to perfection, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were large and very comfortable although the bed was somewhat to soft for my liking but this is a personal choice not a complaint.

Balbirnie House Hotel is so beautiful and we loved relaxing before dinner in the lounge next to the fireplace with our drinks and canapes. The service was fantastic and so was the food - we loved it all. After dinner coffee in the lounge was the perfect way to end a perfect evening.

This is what good food and customer service should be like, from the minute you step in the front door you're greeted by well presented, polite and efficient staff. We were shown to the drawing room where we ordered a cocktail and beer, we had canapés, ordered our meals, once in the Orangry we had our starters, I had a...

I enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch in The Bistro with my family. Food was good but there was no suitable choice for the little ones aged 3 and 5 resulting in them playing with their food which was a waste of money. Also the visit to Santa was called just as the main course was served so my daughter had...

A great place for a spot of lunch! We dropped in for lunch and was most impressed! The standard of the food and the service was excellent! The meal was also well priced! We will make this a regular stop off! We also stayed for a wedding a few years back and were very well looked after! The room was...

We were given a voucher for Christmas by a friend which covered canapés, 4 courses, coffee & tablet. What a lovely meal. The ribeye in particular, was incredible, and great service from the young team of waitresses. Only issue is that for the 3rd time recently they have been unable to provide a toothpick! Surely not too much to ask.

We had booked an amazing suite only to find the main wedding party next door. At 3pm, the noise was just too much so we asked if we could move rooms. We did not want to make too much of a fuss and didn't want to put a dampener on the couples special day. All that was available was a...

Great setting, lovely attention to detail, amazing food, excellent service from the staff, great disco, very good value for money, so much so, we have already booked for xmas 2017 and our booking number of 21 people has more than doubled for next year. Look forward to it already.

I personally feel your comments made to a local lady celebrating her 35th wedding anniversary were horrible!

I fully support dawn t on this and feel your response is condescending in the truest sense of the word, you appear to show an attitude of patronizing superiority when you state, " Balbirnie's Snr Manager in charge of Guest Services, has already gone a country mile to do everything possible to exceed what any logically thinking guest would consider as truly wonderful service"

How dare you? this part of your statement, "logically thinking guest" is an insult to dawn t and your lifeline in your chosen career, hospitality - GUEST SATISFACTION! What gives you the right to be this demeaning and make such an arrogant statement ?

When you book the Orangery at 8-00pm you expect the Orangery at 8-00pm and not pathetic excuses on one's special night saying you were busy. As dawn t specifically points out, you weren't busy/fully booked when she arranged their anniversary event.

Is it the fact dawn t is simply a local lass spending what could be classed as an inconsiderable amount of money in your establishment in comparison to the larger parties, that she is relegated to second/third class service whilst the larger groups receive a better class of service, I hesitate to use the words first class as it doesn't apply unless every guest is satisfied and, as this event experienced by dawn t shows, that was not the case.

This response is purely my personal opinion at the way you have handled, or mishandled this complaint. I hope you do host dawn t again, should she choose to visit, and get it right next time.

Lastly, ponder this, most people get married once. But after that they celebrate that event annually, perhaps you need to consider this as a more important, and consistent, alternative revenue stream than you currently seem to.
