We stayed here for one night and I honestly say I'm glad it was just for one night, the room was basic no tea or coffee etc, when I booked it was for 2 people and 2 dogs when we checked in we where told there was a cost of 8 euros for each dog I think this should have been made clear at time of booking the staff we feel must be very unhappy at their work as they are rude and arrogant in all areas of this hotel the reception desk was the worst I have encountered with the staff in the cafe/restaurant where dreadful I would not stay here ever very unpleasant experience.
Very nice rooms, good public areas, superd large swimming pool & poolside area + adjacent bar / restaurant. Great location, although out of town there is covered parking & very near access to the Autovia. Almenralejo is not such an interesting town, but the surrounding countryside is very attractive since the soil is so fertile. All kinds of farming. A lot of vinyards. But this hotel is excellently and centrally placed if you want to visit Merida, Badajoz, Cacares & Trujillo. Elvas in Portugal is not far. Staff were very kind & pleasant, restuarant/bar is fine. This hotel is excellent value for the price !
Fantastic and fabulous hotel Very clean friendly staff Brilliant reasonable family rate Top location for a break after a long Drive it's my favourite location off the motorway Definitely recommend by me.
Stayed here recently with our dog. Good experience. Easy to find, plenty of parking, warm reception, large room, splendid bathroom, very clean. Ate in the bar; good range of hot and cold food. Biggest Spanish gin and tonics! It's not five star, but it is inexpensive, excellent value for money and the staff obviously work hard for the guests. We liked the hotel.
Despite the bad reviews of this hotel we had nothing serious to complain about. We were just stopping for the night, although we did drive into Almendralejo to walk around a bit. The room was spacious althought it does need a makeover. Outside, unfortunately, but not the hotel's fault, was a major pig farm, and the smell, depending on the direction of the wind, could be pretty horrific. We had to keep the windows closed but it was winter so no problem. Downstairs was a small gym, which is used by the locals. We used it too. There was a smal indoor pool but we did not venture to try our swimming skills. Breakfast was simple but we were not in the mood for big buffets where you eat things you normally wouldn't eat at home anyway--sausages, bacon etc. All in all, this hotel is good value and I would recommend it.…
Popped in for a snack at lunch time on the way North on the A68, at junction 648. first time I have been here as I am a bit fed up with some of the places on route Nice interior of walnut, pleasant bar and service prices fine tart Euro 3 Zumo natural Euro 2. Hotel looked fine will stay there if this way again, usually stay at Palencia which is a few hours further south.. plenty of fre parking, petrol station and shop.
Just off junction 648 on E803 A-66 so very handy for overnight stop off on our way to Portugal. So let's start with the hotel positives: It's pet friendly. There is ample free parking at front of hotel. The staff on reception are very very helpful and pleasant even translating the tapas menu for us. The room is very spacious with two large very comfy single beds, it has two comfy chairs and table, Large mirrored dressing table. His and hers sinks in the bathroom and an over bath jacuzzi shower unit. Bath gel and small soap provided and good size bath towels. Excellent heating / air conditioning in the room. Has a cafeteria on site - where we had a tasty bacon and tuna pizza €8 and cured pork and ham tapas €3 each. The hotel has a indoor pool, sauna and gym which are free for all guests to use, but after a long days driving just wanted my bed, so can't comment on these facilities. And now for the negatives: The on-site restaurant is only open in the day, so nowhere to get a good hot meal in the evening, unless you drive into town. The cafeteria does have food but it is just baguettes and cold tapas, with the exception of a choice of 3 types of pizza. We stayed room only, but I believe you can get a coffee, toast and orange juice from the cafeteria in the morning. But be aware as is customary in most Spanish hotels there is no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel is immaculately clean, but needs renovating - the carpets in the corridors are faded and worn, the jacuzzi shower in the room was all cracked and the silicone around the bath is grotty looking, but this has no impact on the quality of your stay. The hairdryer in the bathroom is very underpowered so best pack your own. The room has plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, BUT the walls are paper thin and was disturbed by neighbours open and shutting doors and drawers early morning. Now this is where I get really ANGRY with hotels - in a hotel which was very clearly under occupied WHY do they put guests next door to each other, surely it would be better for guest if when the hotel was quiet an empty room was left between them, thus ensuring the guests were not disturbing each other and therefore avoiding negative feedback like this. The room has a TV but as you'd expect they're all Spanish channels. But that wasn't a problem as we didn't want to watch TV. Hotel free WiFi was a bit hit and miss, but it worked in the bedroom though wouldn't want to rely on it for streaming TV on your tablet or downloading anything. Would I stay here again? If hotel would give me a quiet room without neighbours either side - yes, but as I requested a quiet room at the time of booking because we had the dog with us and didn't get it, then I wouldn't chance it. I must say that I'm certain if I'd mentioned it to the reception staff they'd have moved us, but it was too late by the time we realised the walls were paper thin, we were already in bed.…
Have used this hotel a few times while driving up and back through Spain in between ferry ports. The rooms are very comfortable and we have always had a good nights sleep. There are two restaurants in the hotel, the a la carte and a quick meal place both are very good quality.
The hotel facade may trick some into believing that this hotel is not up to standard, but it couldn't be any different service is good, cafeteria and restaurant are very good, rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel has a gym downstairs which access is included in the price. Very good value. The decor could be updated but non the less a good 8/10.
We traveled by car from Santander to Estepona and had booked this hotel for an overnight stay. We were glad to have booked as we realised while driving that there were not many places to stop on the way without getting off the motorway and into town. This hotel is an older and large building with seemingly many rooms. The room we had was large, so was the bathroom, the airconditioning unit worked well and they accepted our dogs with no problems. The staff were friendly and patient with our non existant Spanish and we settled onto the porch in the late evening for a meal and drinks after our long drive. We can highly recommend this as a very convenient stopover. We did not look for a pool or other conveniences, just a comfortable safe place to sleep and some food and drink. Good value. There is a petrol station just across the road where you can buy snacks and drinks for your trip. They close at 10 pm (11 pm?) but open again early.…
