We are both over 70 with dodgy knees, so 3 bus stops plus the tram within 100 metres made the location ideal. Evening arrival necessitated the hotel buffet dinner, which at 13 euros was more than adequate. Room was clean and spacious with a sea view we did not expect. Everything worked. Short bus rides to the train and coach stations made day trips to Murcia, Elche and Orihuela easy and cheap, though the trains rarely ran on time.Tram to Benidorm was only reget-even more awful than we had feared-the place, not the tram.

Booked this short break last minute due to flight cancellation, what a great little place!
We requested a high floor quiet room which we got, room on 5th floor had amazing views of the castle and pool and beyond.
Room was extremely comfortable, cracking air con and shower, comfortable beds and was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided.
Smashing little pool area and liked pool bar and good reasonably priced drinks, the lunch time snacks looked yummy!
Yes could have done with a little more shade, brollies etc but we were out all day so only used late afternoon/evening.
We were half board not particularly our usual choice but my goodness what lovely food and choices, haven't had better in higher star hotels! Comfortable dining room which was never packed, staff all work very hard, you have the first drink free with evening meal.
The location of the hotel was lovely, though not central, we loved the walk down after breakfast and evening meal but can be tiring walking back in the heat, taxis are cheap.
Alicante is such a beautiful city with lots to see and do, this is our second visit but would definitely return.

Stayed for a week in Jan/Feb with very warm weather (28° on last day). Hotel is well located - close to bus stop for line C6 to and from airport, within walking distance of other buses and tram stops taking you up and down the coast and into the city (but you can walk into the old town and to beach and marina). Castle (free entrance) accessible from just behind the MARC tram station, up a zig zag path in the shade in the mornings. Worth getting there early in the day (opens at 1000) and having a coffee on the cafe terrace. Room on 7th floor had great sea views and was immaculately cleaned each day. There was a covered balcony. Fridge in room and hired a kettle (€10 returnable deposit) so could make tea in the mornings. Bought two mugs for this from Alcampo shopping centre across 4 roads from hotel. Reception staff were always friendly and efficient, particularly Rubin. Didn't have any meals here so can't comment on restaurant. Also pool wasn't open as out of season. Only couple of small niggles - couldn't seem to get aircon to work but kept the door and windows open, and the mattresses were a little firm for us. A great hotel and will definitely return to Alicante and stay here again.

I cannot recommend the Hotel Maya Alicante highly enough. From my initial booking last year, subsequent cancellation, re-booking and arrival last week, the communications from the hotel team were superb.

From our arrival to our our departure, four nights later, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The hotel team, from front desk, bar, breakfast and the lovely ladies servicing the rooms, we were met with very friendly and efficient service.

The hotel is spotless and operates a high-calibre Covid protocol, which is very welcome and reassuring.

The location is fantastic, just across the road form the airport bus stop, 2 mins from the Tram station and 10mins from the Santa Cruz area of bars and restaurants. The Castle is literally 2 mins across the road.

We will return to Alicante as we thoroughly enjoyed the town and all it had to offer, when we do we shall return to the Hotel Maya Alicate.

Great hotel staff couldn't do enough for you. Especially Noelia she always made sure your stay went smooth Rooms cleaned every day fresh towels we had a lovely room very modern .the only thing I felt was missing was a kettle to make tea/coffee but that's just me
Food was great breakfast plenty of it great choice and very fresh . We had lunch a couple of days it was amazing and you get a free drink with evening meal or lunch .
Their was a lovely pool with pool bar serving food which was really nice .
Their is a massive shopping mall at the top of the hill that sells everything with a supermarket inside .
Also a bus stop right outside the number 02 takes you along the beach to centre of town for a couple of euros and the c6 bus that goes to airport is at the top of the road on other side.
If you have walking difficulties it's a bit far out for resturants and bars
All and all it's a fab hotel great value. Would definitely stay again

We stayed at the Maya for two nights and there isn’t much I can say about it that is good. None of the staff understood much English, but unaware we could speak some spanish, decided to be rude about us. Aside from that, our covid passports were not up to date due to a issue but we had negative tests, and they couldn’t understand this. We ended up having to show them the Spanish government website to even be allowed our booked room. But we were not allowed down for breakfast or dinner, but told room service would be sorted. Room service consisted of us calling until someone answered, and freezing cold food being left in reception for us to collect. 😡

The room had a terrible smell coming from the bathroom and the “beach” views were over the top of apartments and you could barely see the sea. The apartments could see into your balcony and you could hear the lovely residents shouting/drinking and being noisy well into the early morning.

The paper thin walls didn’t help either.

Overall, I would highly recommended you don’t stay here. I’ve been to Alicante over 40 times (for work and personal) and I’ve never been treated so badly.

Good Hotel , is definitely a 3 star , well placed for all amenities, we had a high floor sea view floor 10 ,a good room more expensive but worth it , but not enough plug sockets for modern appliances , still had to hire a kettle even in these rooms ! No iron either which is why it’s definitely a three star , the rooms were cleaned daily but we are both fair haired and every time cleaned there was black hair in bathroom or beds from the maid so maybe this is just an area where there could be more care, The breakfast was one of the best even from 4-5 star Spanish hotels. The downside is the pool area needs a total makeover it could be made so much nicer for having a chilled day. There is a few gorgeous restaurants nearby really need to try , La Estancia a treat night gorgeous and La Gamba Blanca ate twice good value and excellent customer service and food , definitely miss one out all together really bad service is pizzeria civitavecchia terrible service in fact we left , We usually had a full day of sightseeing and tried to eat later on the way home. Must do the tram right next to hotel and also the castle right above hotel walked up and down no fee , also boat trip to island of Tarbca ferry from Harbour.

Stayed here for 4 nights from 3rd July. Excellent hotel, all staff helpful and efficient. We were half board as we had booked a Jet2 deal and normally do b and breakfast but glad we were as Alicante not cheap. Ex we’re allocated our room OMG 3rd floor immediately despite arriving about noon Room was spacious, spotless and more than adequate for a city/sun short break. Few English channels on TV so hobby watched the tennis at night! Room cleaned and bed made daily and bins emptied , towels changed when you required it. Safe and mini fridge in room. Enclosed balcony which we didn’t use, looked on to the castle but too warm to sit out. Nice pool, not many sun beds unless you dived out at 10 am but we managed to get 2 when we returned in the evening. additional sunbathing area away from the pool was however very spacious, shortage of parasols was a challenge for someone as fair skinned as me! Small bar with all the usual drinks, tea and coffee. Few minutes walk to trams and 10 minute walk down to the centre. A large supermarket nearby where you can stock up on water as only a vending machine and no tea/ coffee in rooms. Bed was comfortable, soundproofing not great but we had young families near us so was quiet after 11 and we slept well. Taxi from airport 20 euros. Breakfast was amazing for a 3 star, large selection of fresh fruits and also some hot food, including making fresh omelette. Dinner was not as good, but more than adequate and you’d need to be really fussy if you couldn’t find something. Again superb fruits and cakes/ desserts. Would definitely return if back in Alicante

Jet2 holiday, booked in yesterday and was told there are no rooms available for over 4 hours. Told to check back again after 4pm.
The staff are disinterested, the pool bar is only occasionally manned and there are no drinks facilities in the room. The hotel wants to charge 10 euros for a kettle. Rip off.
This is supposed to be a 3 to 4 star hotel. As an experienced traveler I would be amazed to see this place rated at 2 stars anywhere in the world, including Spain. Had I known the lack of everything involved I would never have booked.

I think some of them don't, most do, we had a balcony but it was sort of enclosed as it's quite high up. Maybe the floors lower down don't, we were the second floor from the top I think
