Whenever we travel from Ferry Ports to Southern Spain, we always stay here overnight on our return journey. The location is perfect for this as it is just off the north/south motorway. It is on an industrial estate so not much to see and no bars or restaurants within walking distance. However, the hotel is good, clean and comfortable with large bedrooms and bathrooms, we always request a double bed which is very large as it is actually two twin beds together - but you can't feel the join! The TV is small and, although two years ago BBC World News was available, this is not now the case and only Spanish channels are available. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, with excellent toiletries provided in bathroom, even down to the provision of hair combs! Excellent wine and tapas in the bar. Very fast, free Wi-Fi, we managed to stream Sky Go live without buffering or freezing.…
We had booked this as a stopover on our way to Santander for the ferry. We used the address in our satnav to find the hotel and it took us to it's sister building in the village! We were directed 4km back up the road we had just come down to the hotel in the middle of nowhere. We checked in and parked our car in car park at the back which was good. Our room was clean, a nice big bed with good quality linen and a choice of thick and thin pillows. We had expected a big TV with BBC world news as stated by another reviewer but there were no channels other than the usual Spanish ones and we needed binoculars to see the screen when sat on the bed! Free wi-fi worked well for us in our room. We went to check the restaurant out, this was at about 5pm and the lunchtime clients were still there. On asking we discovered that the evening meal did not start until 9pm, much too late for us. So we ended up having to drive back into the village to eat - not really what we wanted to do after 300+ miles of driving that day. The bathroom was quite adequate but I did find the sachets of shower gel a bit annoying and perhaps a bit penny pinching although there were other things such as a disposable toothbrush and a comb. We had booked breakfast and although it was ok it was pretty uninspiring and the waiter was more interested in his phone than serving us and it was only when the Spanish contractors came in did the hot things come out of the kitchen - we had all but finished our breakfast by then and needed to be on our way. I would not recommend this for a stop over although we were told that Penelope Cruz lived across the road and I think the restaurant menu and prices reflected this type of clientele.…
As recommended by others a comfortable, clean over night stop just off the motorway. Pleasant room with large bathroom. Restaurant not open until 9pm, so not great if you want an early start, but excellent tapas with drinks.
Our family stayed at this hotel for one night after a wedding reception. This is not a luxury hotel, but the price was appropriate and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff were wonderful, letting us check in early. The beds were hard, but beds were hard at every location in Spain. The rooms were clean and convenient for the reception that happened at Casa Juaneca that night. The bathrooms had been recently remodeled and the shower had great water pressure. The AC unit wasn't working in one of the rooms, but since it had just rained, we didn't really need it. We had breakfast and my children loved the hot coco. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
My husband scored the internet to find a suitable hotel for our trip back to the uk, judging by the photos and reviews he thought he had, so although it's a little more than we normally pay (65 euros) he went ahead and booked big mistake we should have stuck with cheap and cheerful .ignore sat it take you up to junction 34 when you need 30. He booked a double and had hoped to get one with a bath, we got neither a twin, not too bad a size, no bath so he went back to reception and asked, he was shown a small double with the bed shoved against the wall still no bath, so we stayed in the twin, it states free wifi throughout the hotel again dissatisfied it comes on for a nano second then off, having to use my 3G which of course costs, the room is overly hot tried the air con just made it worse, currently having window open but now we have the pesky mossie to deal with, as usual when traveling in france and Spain take your own kettle ect very few hotels have them they don't get that we need a cuppa in the morning. As it's on yet another industrial estate nothing around it, very pretty garden, and restaurant which only opens until 4pm and then doesn't open bk up until 9pm very Spanish very expensive, very busy, but very nice. I think the point I am trying to get over is it's just overpriced for what you get.…
