First the Positives. Txoko, the new tapas restaurant, which does not have its own Tripadvisor site, is excellent. The atmosphere and quality of the food was superb. I recommend the veal cheeks, steak tartare and the lamb shank. The restaurant needs to greet diners more efficiently and would benefit from an outside dining area (which is feasible). The Abama grounds,... More

This is an expansive hotel, allowing for quiet and space, it has many beautiful pools and public areas. Yes the prices are higher, but they are suitably priced for a ritz carlton. Service is excellent, there if you want it. The room was lovely and clean, but the 'makeup' over the week varied enormously??? Breakfast buffet has most of the... More

Beautifully appointed rooms, grounds and facilities!. The pools were fantastic and for a hotel the gym was well appointed. The overall service delivery by the staff was good, however, the hotel complex is large and sometimes difficult to navigate around due to the lack of signage. The hotel complex desperately needs a person to undertake an exercise to look at... More

Stayed here for 4 nights a week ago. Its a luxury resort, with wonderful pools, beach and a choice of restaurants which must be pre-booked. Staff were very helpful and pleasant but there were some gaps in service. We had a resort facing room which was large, modern and refurbished, so we were told 6 months ago. It was surprising... We love this hotel and the excellent service in most places. The front desk personnel seem very inexperienced and not so efficient. However, the pool guys, the spa treatment people, the chambermaids and the bell boys were marvellous. At the moment the restaurants are undergoing renovation and were not as good as on a previous visit. The buffet that replaces... More

Pros: Stunning hotel, truly beautiful! Lovely room, massive lovely bed, amazing bathroom. Great (really great!) food (half-board). Special mention to one of the restaurants called Txoko. Absolutely superb in every way. Further special mention to a waiter called Nicholas - he was an excellent ambassador of the restaurant and made the dining experience extra special for us. We went back... More

This hotel is incredibly impressive on arrival but niggles appeared as the week wore on. It's very beautiful with lagoon style pools surrounded by Palm Trees frequented by lots of families with young children. The rooms are nice, if a bit dated. When we first arrived wifi was free and easy to use throughout but then a few days later... More

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. This is our third visit and we intend to come regularly. The attention to detail and the professionalism of the staff in every dept make this hotel run like clockwork. They make every effort to make your holiday perfection. And they succeed. A truly wonderful experience!

This was our first visit to this idyllic resort and The Ritz Carlton is impressive in terms of it's location, hidden away in the South of the island where the sun always seems to shine (unlike in the north), the extensive facilities and friendliness of the staff, which we could not fault. However, it is very expensive and therefore your... More

Dear Patricia F, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your experience. Allow me first of all to apologize for the inconveniences you had encountered during your recent stay. The replenishing of the gel should be done on a daily base. The official check in time is 15:00 hours, and sometimes we might have rooms in higher... More
