Booked in here by work whilst working in the area. A wonderful greeting from our hosts, lovely home made scones and an incredibly comfy bed. What more could I wish for? I'll certainly be booking in here again.

A lovely Georgian farmhouse in a picture postcard village inland from the Ayrshire coast at Girvan. Very friendly hosts with a welcome of tea and scones on arrival, and amazing breakfasts. Situated on the banks of the river Stinchar, it's ideal for nature lovers or people who like peace and quiet.

This was a business trip stop but what a beauty. Would definitely visit again weather for business or leisure. Accommodation was excellent as were the owners and their 3 dogs. We were very well looked after and had some very interesting chats with our hosts.

In fact all the A's @ Alton Albany with Alisdair and Andrea. We spent 3 nights @ this wonderful farmhouse set on the outskirts of the forest in the delightful village of Barr. Alisdair's breakfasts were delicious, even on a warmish day, the log fire was lit for us in the mornings in the dining room. Comfortable, clean, warm and...

My husband and I and our dog stayed at the Alton Albany Farm B&B for 2 nights recently and it was fabulous. It began the moment we arrived with a wonderful welcome from Andrea and her three friendly dogs and then tea and freshly made scones, still warm from the oven. Did I mention the lovely open fire going in...

Alton Albany Farm B&B was hands down the best B&B I stayed in during my three months in Europe. Before I even left the States, I contacted Alasdair a few times for questions on directions and travel to Barr. He was extremely helpful and even called a few taxis in the area and sent me an estimate and their phone...

We stayed way back at the end of July on a tour of South Ayrshire, one of the lovelier and less well traveled parts of Scotland in high summer and all the better for it. And Alton Albany lived up to its surrounds, and was one of the favourites of our three week tour. A charmingly proportioned house with simply...

We were only there for one night on our journey home but I could have spent a week in this lovely place. It was very peaceful and surrounded by glorious countryside. We were welcomed by Alisdair who lit the fire and made us tea and produced scones and jam and chocolate cake - really welcome after a long drive. Our...

Tucked away in quiet peacefulness is the beautiful Alton Abbey Farm, complete with fields and a river. It is an elegant, beautifully furnished and very cozy and comfortable delight. Andrea and Alasdair are the warmest, most welcoming hosts one could wish for and we would most definitely like to return. The breakfast is very good and Alasdair's Scottish oats were...
