Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mary and Owen from On The Rocks B&B in Greencastle have been the perfect hosts in a perfect setting from the minute we arrived until the minute we left 7 days later. The location of the B&B is great with amazing views over the water and hills. The comfort of the room with ensuite bathrooms is top notch. Very clean and comfortable rooms, a cosy sitting area for the guests upstairs and a warm welcome anywhere in the house. The breakfast is A-Mazing. Anything you desire will be provided for by Mary and Owen. Very much recommend this B&B and area for an amazing visit to Donegal.

‘On the Rocks’ B&B was a fantastic place to stay, with beautiful views, down to the Foyle loch, it’s a truly gorgeous house, everything was immaculate with big bedrooms, fab bathrooms and the kindest host called Mary. It was my son’s wedding weekend, and Mary and Owen helped make it memorable. When we arrived, Mary made us all so welcome, with hot drinks, cakes and home made scones. Mary made a wonderful breakfast, with Owen’s help, they were both so kind and attentive. If you are lucky enough to book the bed and breakfast with Mary you will be delighted. We will definitely be returning to discover more of the beautiful and friendly Donegal. Thank you so much Mary and Owen.

We stayed in this incredible B&B for a wedding and we could not have chosen a more beautiful house, location, and friendly hosts! The views from the dining room and patio looking out to the sea are just stunning. All the rooms were modern, light and extremely comfortable. Mary was so kind and attentive and really went out of her way to look after us all. When we are next in Greencastle we will 100% be choosing to stay at On the Rocks again!

Spent a week with Owen and Mary at their beautiful home overlooking the Lough Foyle (bay or inlet). The home is immaculate, comfy and the view from the kitchen table is fabulous. Oh, and the breakfast can be range from a simple fruit and yogurt to a full traditional Irish breakfast. All this with the beautiful countryside and affable locals for a very reasonable price. I look forward to returning.

We had a super stay at the B&B On The Rocks with Mary and Owen. Very friendly people, always helpful . The breakfast was to everyone's liking. The rooms were very cosy , clean and well kept . The view was very nice. We were lucky with the weather, we even sat on the terrace in the sun. We made some very nice trips from here. Spending your holiday here is definitely a must.

We went to a B&B called on the rocks on 29th May. When we arrived we meet a lady called Mary she made us feel so welcome. When we got settled into a beautiful room with a view. We went downstairs mary had home made scones and cakes and coffee for us. She showed us a little sitting area for her guests, could make tea or coffee in a small fridge there was beer water and soft drinks. In the Price. We book it again for two night the end July. Mary and your husband could not do enough for you.

I could not recommend this B&B more highly. We had a fantastic stay with Mary & Owen, who greeted us with open arms and provided food, conversation and advice. They have such expansive knowledge of the Irish history and Owen is a skilled story teller. They went that extra mile to make us feel at home. They provided breakfast at a time to suit you and cooked just before you were seated, so the food was always fresh. If you have never stayed in a B&B before then this would be your turning point.
We stayed for 4 nights at the end of July 2014. The location is heavenly, easy to find from Foyle Ferry and not too distant from the Causeway route. We felt safe and it was immensely peaceful.
