It's actually been over a year since my dad and I visited early last November, but I wanted to put this up because we had such an excellent stay! My dad and I were on a trip to tour universities and had decided to add a wee stay in Donegal, and even though Ann and Colin were technically closed for the season, they put us up since they happened to be in town for the weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The house is beautiful, clean, cozy, and close to Greencastle, Moville, and (most importantly!) Shroove Beach, which has to be one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to! Ann and Colin were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us many excellent recommendations for our short time there, and I will definitely be staying there again in the future!
Although we stayed in family room without ensuite, we could not complain as we booked late and we really wanted to stay here rather than any were else. We had heard so many good things and were not disappointed. Colin was our host who and he was always available to help. Both the outside and inside of the house was immaculate, the views of Lough Foyle and the lighthouse were outstanding. We had a great sleep, and we had our wee dog who really enjoyed the freedom to run on Stroove beach. At a relally good breakfast we met Ann who was really lovely . Ann and Colin thank you very much for a great time. Bernard Anya and Bonny.
Colin and Ann have refurbished their house to a great standard and they made us very welcome to stay with them. The room was spacious and had a lovely big bathroom en suite. It is the tremendous hospitality which makes the place so appealing though. Nothing is too much problem. Breakfast is a continental type buffet, but includes the nice touch of fresh fruit salad. Excellent value accommodation. Thanks to both.
Located on a beautiful spot with a view either on the sea or mountains. My room was clean and very cosy, with comfy bed and a good shower. There's a shared kitchen and free tea and coffee. Wi-Fi was good. The host, Colin, was exceedingly friendly and helpful. He knows very well the north-west area of Irland and was generous with his time too, giving me advice on the best hike in the area, and actually planning the next few days of my trip for me. All together, my stay at Lighthouse View was enjoyable.
This was our second trip to this unique and peaceful haven. Colin and Ann replicate what the area is all about, welcoming and warm. Having spent 2 nights last year in the converted lorry with our dog we promised Colin and Ann we would be back. We decided to up it to 3 nights this year only to book in for a 4th night the morning we were meant to check out as we couldn't bring ourselves to leave. The b&b itself is spotless and homely. The outside cottage is beautiful and unique but our ambience is within the converted lorry that over looks the most breathtaking views. The area is full of hidden gems, and just like Donegal its , its discovering these gems that make it so special. Colin and Ann were so generous with their time and help and accomodating our dog Ruby. We travelled 8 hours through 11 different counties to the other side of the country to get to the Lighthouse View B&B as its quickly becoming our home away from home. Thanks again. Dave, Maria and Ruby…
