Spanning over 15 acres, strategically located in the fast-developing Ayer Keroh in Melaka, Philea Resort and Spa is an extraordinary resort built utilising natural resources, including 8,000pieces of disused railway sleepers for the staircase and more than 6,000 tons of marble from Perak as block fencing. The resort just opened back for visitor after its renovation/ rejuvenation works when we booked the room. Stay there as we cannot cross state border during CMCO in Melaka, and located about 15-20 minutes from our house. Resort staff are quite helpful and friendly, responsive to our request. Our room is at the second floor with balcony facing the walkway. Room and bed condition is good, but the stairway area didn't lit at night which is dangerous for the visitor. Didn't manage to walk around in the 1st day evening as it is rain heavily outside. As not many visitor and pandemic condition, all meals including breakfast was delivered directly to the room. Visitor have to select the breakfast type listed during check-in/ before end of the day.

Love the ambience ..definitely a place to go for someone who needed a break free from the busy city.

Stayed 3D2N..Breakfast on 1st day tasted so great tho it was only ala carte However breakfast buffet on 2nd day was meeeh.

If only they maintained the same quality of food and open their spa service, i would definitely come again.

Nevertheless the services from their staff was commendable.

I am not sure why this resort has had so many bad reviews. Glad I still went ahead with the trip and have no regrets doing so. The place is very relaxing. There’s a buggy service to bring us around if we are lazy to walk or electric scooters are available for guests. During weekdays and off-peak periods, they serve a la carte breakfast and, for small eaters like me and my family, the serving is considered big. The lunch cum dinner menu don’t have a wide variety but enough to fill an empty stomach. Portion is not as large as breakfast so don’t think of sharing. Staff are friendly and housekeeping plus maintenance were quick to attend to our needs. The rooms are comfortable but being in the jungle, mosquitoes and ants are inevitable so just make sure that you bring along mosquito repellents.

A very expensive resort which we think that is not worth with the price that we paid.
Resort was very old and need to refurbish. The hotel room are not clean especially the toilet, able to see stains every where even is in the bathtub. The room comes with toiletries and a very thin bath towel, but without providing the hand towel.
Breakfast was provided by set, only bread, coffee are on buffet basic. So the breakfast choice are very limited.
Besides, we feel unsafety in the resort as we don't see any security guards at the main entrance, so any strangers with motorcycle will be able to go into the resorts.
The only things that we enjoy was the grapes and mini watermelons farm at the resort. The owner of the farm, sorry that forgotten to ask his name was very friendly.
Conclusion : I will not stay again at this resort!! But will drop in to purchase the grapes as it was really sweet and tasty!!

I could not list all the issues it will take too long. From food quality, cleanliness of crockery, poor room condition, weak wifi except at lobby, inexperienced staff and slow reaction from banquet team. The concept is good but in poor condition.

Not the five star luxurious spa retreat as advertised, just a very disappointing accommodation experience that turned a planned four night stay into two.

Clearly trying to get back on its feet post pandemic, but losing the battle against the decay and subsequent cost.

Shut the doors, walk away and let nature reclaim the jurassic park.

To anyone considering a stay, you have been warned!

Was disappointed with the lack of training / knowledge by their staff, they do not aware what they have - food and beverage. Further to that, there are many guests jump into the swimming with their normal clothing - T shirt and shorts ( not proper swim wear).

I stayed in Pavillion Room, and find it spacious enough to add in an additional bed, and will be comfortable to cater 2 young children. Philea Resort also have Philea Suite, even bigger than Pavillion Room (more for honeymooner). Royal Villa is a private villa with 2 king size beds, 2nd room with 2 twin beds, private swimming pool with gazebo, and is cater for big family. There is only 2 villa available. Hope the information helps.
