Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely hotel, nice central location, friendly staff, rooms spacious, beds comfy, pool area very clean and the pool boys are lovely. Good food, plenty of variety in the buffet restaurant, the service in the restaurant is fantastic, the staff do really go out of their way. This is a nice lively hotel.

This is a hotel with the most beautiful grounds, manicured lawns, polite staff, clean swimming pools. The hotel has an amazing selection of delicious food on offer 3 times a day. We were looked after by Francis muthee who provided a 5* service during our stay. One thing to note is some of the rooms although clean, clearly need uodating/renovating. One of the towels I was provided was frayed, the shower head was fixed and awkwardly faced the wall. Theres a distinct lack of plug sockets. So it's worth asking the hotel for an already renovated room if you're particular. In saying that I would revisit.

Had a great 7-day stay in Mombasa! It's located right next to the Indian Ocean. At the hotel you can swim, do sports, have drinks and many more things. The animation team there is just amazing.especially Said who will give you a smiling faces all day long. All in all a very good Kenyan experience.

It is my first visit to Kenya. Hotel is very nice, warm and cozy. It’s a true and real 4* experience where we are given good drinks, very tasty and rich cuisine and standard, but bigger than usual rooms. Hotel maintains a high standard when it comes to serving, the drinks are in glass which is a huge advantage for me. Also all the silverware is in place on your table at restaurant, the cuisine is diverse and one of the best I had, the cooks skills are very good, the amount of spices in meals is extremely well balanced. There are a lot of new tastes you can experience while in that hotel and you will not be disappointed. Desserts are one of the best I had. I also recommend going to the grill restaurant at the swimming pools where food served is individually prepared and of a very good quality. The hotel is extremely well maintained, the restaurants and the surroundings are kept in very good order. Big plus for animation team.

The resort is suitable for the family and no issues. Despite being end of season with a young child, the children entertainment staff have helped entertain our son. Special mention to Francis Muthee at meal times who goes beyond what is expected to ensure we are all comfortable and makes meals smooth and relaxing.

Place is worthy its name. Had a relaxed holiday experience with helpful staff. Francis Muthee and Caroline Muthoni stood out in the dining area with their exemplary service. I highly recommend the beach resort for those looking to have a relaxed time.

This hotel is a disaster! Firstly, our room air conditioning didn't work and it wasn't fixed. Ask to be fixed and wasn't really fixed. The air conditioning units were so old. They made so much noise you had to turn it off if it did work. The bathroom was so outdated. Hot water was intermittent. Bathroom was flooded after a shower. We were sleeping at 6.30am and the water tanks upstairs came on and our sleep was then disturbed. What is that about why are water tanks above bedrooms. We are on holiday who would like to sleep a bit longer than 6.30am. We paid for an all inclusive, we had to pay extra for so many different things. There are hidden charges everywhere in this hotel. Be aware! Dining room is the weirdest experience we have ever had. We were allocated a table and we're not allowed to move even on request. What I had also noticed was that the dining experience took me back to maybe 1950s segeration. For some reason white and asian and blacks are separated. What is this about? Firstly, as adults we should be able to sit whereever we would like to choose every time. Secondly, why are white people given a better table choices overlooking the pool area and black and asisans given the back of the restaurants? What was nice is many of the employees were friendly and attentive, others were not so much. Reception staff there was no communication from one shift change to another. When reporting an issue leaving for the day and coming back the new reception staff had no hand over and knew nothing about what was spoken regarding queries spoken about in the morning. I was very disappointed in my experience at Travellers Clubs not modern, 1970s decor, poor facilities in the room. Very poor and old air conditioning units. Sofas and beds uncomfortable and very out dated. I met people from a different hotel and disappointed I wasn't there as that was what I call updated modern and working facilities. I wouldn't come back or recommend anyone to visit this hotel. It's a 3 star hotel at the max!

I visited the hotel last week with my family and we really enjoyed our time there, we liked everything from the food, to entertainment, to the wonderful boat rides. The standout staff for me was Baraka from the front office, always ready to help out with a smile on his face.😁 Looking forward to visiting again this coming December🔥🔥

There's a misconception that North Coast Resorts have become very MICE oriented to the detriment of the Leisure traveller. I must confess that I had this concern going into this holiday with my family. This Resort completely debunked that myth. From the moment we arrived, met by a very friendly and jovial doorman, Benson, I felt I had made the right decision. My 3yo was a bit grumpy and was not in the mood for pleasantries, but the ever smiling Brigit at Guest Relations quickly won her heart and a long-term friendship started. The room I was allocated was modern, spacious cozy and most importantly very clean with easy proximity to the beach. Flora, the Exec. Housekeeper made a point of coming round to check on us, which we felt, added a personal touch to our overall experience. I was initially uneasy about being on the Hotel side and felt I should have requested a Club room. I immediately realised that the Hotel side is quieter and the Club side is best suited to spend the entire day at. The fact that you can interact with both sides of the Resort enhances the entire experience. Another worry, coming in, was the Resort's ability to keep my very active 3yo entertained during the day. Bahati, who runs the Animation and Entertainment Team has put together an elaborate indoor and outdoor programme and has the most patient and child-friendly Team that are able to engage children with a variety of activities the entire day. Top marks for anyone travelling with kids. Adult entertainment is also very inclusive and fun. Food variety was good. The day-time snack menu was adequate while the dinner buffet met our expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to see seafood on the buffet. My one and only point of improvement is that the Culinary Team at the buffet were not very engaging and tended to be a bit mechanical. The beach is a hive of activity and this can be intimidating especially if it is your first time. I consider the Beach Operators part of the Tourism ecosystem, so it was important that I interact with them. Contrary to what we hear about harassment on the beach, I met very friendly, polite individuals. A young man named Juma, selling jetski and boat excursions was a star. Excellent customer service and sales skills that would impress any top sales and marketing professional. Most operators wore uniform and had identification cards visible. I must also mention William, from the Bamburi Foundation for the differently abled. He does not let the fact that he is blind limit him. He has the ability to keep one engaged with stories about himself and the organisation he represents. I cannot fault the beach experience. When visiting I recommend: a sundowner at the beach bar, a chat with the parrots, a walk on the beach, pool games with the Animation team and an open mind. Thank You Travellers Team for a wonderful experience. I most definitely will be back.
