I came alone to the resort, and my experience was amazing. The service and the ppl working there are very service-minded and friendly. The vegetarian food is great, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean.

Made a booking for 2 nights through Agoda and paid in full. When we got to the hotel they said they had problems with agoda and we had to pay again. Not sure why their problem with Agoda is the client's problem, so we left. NB they still advertise on Agoda, so be careful when you book.

The rooms are spacious, with excellent view of the beach. I would recommend guys friends and family to visit the place. The breast is good, offering a variety from the menu. The room service is prompt and answer to any request.

Having stayed in the resort for 5 night I can't hesitate to recommend the place ,when checking in we were welcomed by security guards and the front desk lady who were helpful despite the curfew regulations .The room was clean and sparkling as requested we had an extra bed for our daughter. Breakfast was ready by 8 in the morning the gentleman by the name Zuma who took care of us the whole stay was indeed helpful making sure our little daughter of 9months was taken care of The house attendant by the name Victor wanyama is indeed a professional our house was sparkling clean and all the amenities replenish Lastly the hotel manager was amazing down to earth and ready to assist where necessary my elder daughter was happy to celebrate her 9th birthday in Ziwa beach resort her friends were given special rate by the manager . Just to finish I have a lot I can say but All the good memories are in my heart I wish to recommend the resort and promise to come back again and have a long stay. to the management pass my special thanks to all the staff .see you soon and have merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. We stayed at the Ziwa one night, there was nothing in the room, shower was terrible, there was no soap and bugs in the room. I would consider this a back packers spot, but definitely not a resort. When we checked in we were told that it decorated African style, meaning it looks like huts and animal prints around it. The mosquito nets were torn as well. I agree with these other people, nothing worked, poor service, and uncomfortable.

Stayed here for 3 nights on holidays. I cant understand some of the reviews to be honest. My room was beautiful, huge bed, tv worked and the shower was great ( hot water too) This is Kenya and people forget that. I had some problems with wi-fi and the hotel needs to address that. The pool area is nice but they are still finishing off some new rooms at the front. Some noise.Great views while eating breakfast looking at the Indian ocean. They need more sunbeds around the pool. I found the staff around the pool to be super friendly and the breakfast good. When the work is finished it will be brilliant. I would stay here again without question. Thank you staff at Ziwa for a nice stay.

I CANNOT overstate enough how NOTHING in this hotel WORKS. If there’s a hotel whose management care less about hospitality but margins, Ziwa takes the price! As an avid traveler, I owe this to the hotel and world. NEGATIVES ⁃ The reception area looks like a backstreets motel in the early 80s!! You can almost feel the smell of scam in the air. ⁃ The room was dump and archaic. NOTHING WORKS!! ⁃ Old smelly white torn bed linen, towels. ⁃ The A/C was not WORKING. They had to bring in an old fan that WAS ALSO NOT WORKING. ⁃ The room sockets were faulty and would occasionally let out a sparky noise. ⁃ Terrible showering experience! The shower DOES NOT WORK. It’s more of a sprinkler than a shower. When we called the fix-it guy, he casually indicated that there’s was nth more he could do to fix it. ⁃ The hotel provides body shower gel and shampoo that is seemingly permanently affixed to the bathroom walls. I doubt they change it. ⁃ A HUGE centipede was comfortably habited above the bed. It was quite obvious management was doing nth about it. For all I know, the rooms may be home to other crawling creatures. ⁃ Mosquito net was old and torn. For the one night, mosquitoes in my room had a field day! An important observation for guests who are bringing with them their babies! ⁃ Too expensive for little to no value. ⁃ I STRONGLY recommend that management takes a good look at itself. It’s honestly embarrassing. Definitely never going back! POSITIVES The only positive is that I’m never going back. Well, breakfast was good.

I was surprised by the price that was quoted for a beach resort with a beachfront and more so during a public holiday when all hotels normally hike their rack rates. However before we reached we had to manage our own expectations - by lowering them. :-) At the reception, in a very haphazard and after thought manner, we were offered cold towels, glass of passion juice and a small miserable-looking packet of soggy masala crisps. The walkways to the cottages are so unkempt - spare parts, sand, planks of wood are strewn all over. The room is big and spacious. The bed is comfortable. There are mosquitoes..... A mosquito net is provided but it had holes. Each time someone opened a tap or flushed the toilet among the 4 rooms in the cottage, the water pump outside went on. It was so loud and irritating..especially when you are trying to get some sleep. The African theme decor is good but needs maintenance. The room has a veranda with a dining table and lounge seats shared by 2 rooms. The seat covers were dirty. The wooden seats need some polishing and cleaning. On one day we came back from the beach, found that our neighbors had left their used utensils on the dining table - they were not cleared. The next morning they were still there. :-( The shower curtain was dirty and so was the wall in the shower....that made me feel the whole place was dirty. The water is hard. Instead of providing sealed bottled drinking water, they seem to have a water dispenser somewhere that they use to replenish drinking water in some glass bottles provided in the room. That felt eerie although even though they are trying to be green. The wifi was ok. Limited programs to watch on the TV provided. We didn't try their breakfast based on other peoples reviews and opted to go to other restaurants nearby. There is plenty of them. Apart from one staff from the restaurant, the room attendant and receptionist were exceptional. In brief, sanitation is a big weakness at this resort.
