The best hotel if you're looking for exceptional hospitality and guides to help you enjoy a unique part of Mexico. The hacienda like hotel with it's beautiful courtyard. Is perfect for a romantic get away or sharing special time with friends and family.

We enjoyed the very comfortable and beautiful Hotel Los Arcos, but the best part of our experience were the owners and staff. Thanks to EVERYONE of you for the hospitality and wonderful food and cultural adventures.

We rode hard and pulled in tired..Tom was there to greet us and guide the bikes in. Out in front of the hotel we lined up tight and climbed off our mounts. Banamachi, sweet Banamachi. Arriving there is like getting to a little piece of paradise. Gear in hand, we greeted Lynn at the front desk. Our fresh rooms waited...

Tom and Lynn Matthews run a superb and safe getaway for adventure bikers. Banamichi is such a welcome respite from the road after a day of riding through stunning countryside, and the proprietors of Los Arcos are the perfect hosts. Wood-fired pizza, a pool, courtyard, and great company - what more could one ask for?

This is our second visit (October 07/16) to Tom and Lynn's excellent oasis in Banamichi, Sonora Mexico. Our first experience (albeit brief) was last May on our way back from a ~4 week motorcycle ride from Prince George BC down the Baja and then over to the mainland and north back home. Tom was not home so we had a...

Lessons learned - it is best to make a phone call to book rooms at this posada - rather than rely on the internet pa ge. We would rather have had the information to opt for an UPSTAIRS room rather than the loud downstairs suite, which allowed the upstairs guests to rollerskate over our heads until the apologetic owners moved...

We are disappointed that your experience at Los Arcos was not representative of our standards for quality guest service and hospitality. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora in Banamichi, Mexico. The Hotel is simply fabulous. It was very modern with all the necessary updates one would expect of a fine hotel but had the feel and beauty that you just can't find in today's out of the way establishments. Beautiful courtyard gardens and water features,...

I had the pleasure of staying here Labor Day weekend 2016. The hotel was amazing, the pool had just opened and feels great on a hot Sonora night. Tom and Lynn were not only hospital and helpful but they treat their guests like family. Our room was clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and the hotel is gorgeous! Great...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A little paradise on the Rio Sonora, Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora is the perfect setting to experience the romantic charm of old Mexico. Eleven individually decorated rooms offer luxurious pillow top beds, elegant bedding, air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans and spacious private bathrooms. Ten of the eleven rooms face the intimate interior courtyard filled with lush gardens and the soothing sounds of cascading water. The traditional Mexican style wood burning fireplace under the ramada takes the chill off on cool days and nights. View the pueblo and the surrounding mountains from the second floor terraza and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Motorcyclists are welcome here. Both Tom and Lynn ride and provide daily routes of the most exciting roads in Sonora. Tom would be delighted to ride along and be your personal guide. Laundry service is also available. Our staff will wash, dry, neatly fold your cloths and return them to your room the same day. If you want to bring a group, we have special room rates, equipment for group presentations and our very special Mexican chef, prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjacent to the hotel we have created a special place for parties complete with seating, an adobe oven for pizza, and an acedor (grill) for cooking carne asada. This is an area that offers wonderful opportunities for adventure, exploring and visiting the past. All along the Rio Sonora are 17 century Spanish churches, hot and warm springs, hiking, horseback riding, traditional Sonoran foods, hunting ranches, friendly people, artisans creating beautiful mesquite furniture, women making tortillas and traditional Mexican cookies and much much more. Our special brand of Sonoran hospitality welcomes every visitor and will bring you back again and again. We invite you to visit our tranquil and safe community and come to know the magic of the Rio Sonora Valley. Tom and Lynn Matthews own and operate Hotel Los Arcos and live full time in Banamichi to ensure you have the perfect stay. ... more   less
