We were hoping for a relaxing night away over the Christmas break and were not disappointed. We booked the Avignon Suite after seeing the pictures on their website, and reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. Dave and Lorri welcomed us with a pot of tea and delicious mince pies in front of a roaring fire in the cosy lounge. This set the tone for the rest of our stay - which exceeded expectations. I won't spoil your visit by describing everything in the room, but needless to say that Dave and Lorri have clearly put a lot of thought into the little touches that go towards making your stay very special. This is by far the best room we have ever stayed in during our travels in the UK and abroad. As other reviews mention, Dave's cooking is superb - can recommend the chicken curry!

Dave and Lorri know how to add all of those personal touches that made this such a refreshing break for us. We stayed just one night, but it felt longer because we felt so nurtured by their warm welcome. They go the extra mile and a bit more, and this is a rare and precious thing to find. The room was amazing, the food cooked for us first rate and all the other personal attention and help that makes this a special place and experience. As for Shula - you wouldn't know she is there, but if you do meet her, what a lovely soul she is - clearly well loved. We have discovered a gem - thank you!

We cannot help but echo all the other reviews. From the moment we arrived, Lorri and Dave made us feel we were the most important people in the world. Of course we will return. How can we not do so. Anyway, we go to the Dales a lot, especially for the scenery. Now we have another reason to go! That extra sausage on the plate in the morning was so much welcomed by Schuna the Pointer. When we left, reluctantly of course, we felt we were leaving lifetime friends behind. There is no doubt, Lorri and Dave love what they are doing. We just wish we could keep The Old Town Hall a secret !! Thanks Lorri, thanks Dave!

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Old Town Hall and what can we say other than absolutely fantastic. The trip was for our wedding anniversary and we were booked into the Avignon Suite. On arrival Dave showed us around our fantastic suite gave us instructions for the whirlpool bath and shower. He also showed us the fridge with its contents of wine, cordials, bottled water and not forgetting the pint of 'proper' milk (none of the horrible little containers of UHT milk that are usually provided). There was an impressive hot drinks tray with a choice of teas, coffees and hot chocolate and a jar containing lovely fresh biscuits, there was also a plate with white chocolate truffles by the side of the bed. In the bathroom were lovely toiletries, beautiful white
