I’m sorry we haven’t reviewed sooner! My husband and I stayed in the summer of 2020 for 5 nights, we were more than delighted with choosing this B & B. David & Louise are very friendly, professional & welcoming people. The property is so beautiful & tastefully furnished to a high standard & also oozes character in a stunning location. Breakfast was very tasty & filling always using high quality ingredients. They always offered more tea, water & toast and nothing was ever a problem, David & Louise were so obliging especially having to make so many adjustments in these uncertain times they always went the ‘extra mile”. Both of their dogs are gorgeous too we were very lucky to get cuddles from them, they keep them away from guests unless you ask to see them which we did. The village pub is excellent serving great food & drinks with very friendly staff. One night I had pre-booked The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton for our anniversary meal, such a special place where the food & service was outstanding, definitely a special treat & worth every penny but you have to pre-book. We came away feeling totally refreshed & look forward to returning. Would definitely recommend to friends & family, definitely a 5* accommodation no wonder David & Louise have both won awards they have worked very hard to achieve these accolades.…
Just returned from a lovely stay at The Old Town Hall. Louise and David have created a truly fabulous bed and breakfast, absolutely immaculate throughout with great attention to detail and every comfort provided. We stayed in the Wensleydale suite which was just gorgeous with it's cosy little lounge and a bathroom which was as luxurious as any to be found in a 5 star hotel. Lots of thoughtful little extras made us feel very welcome and spoilt. Louise's breakfasts are special too, beautifully cooked and very tasty with a good choice, my husband especially enjoyed the haggis with perfect poached egg. The Old Town Hall is a really wonderful place in a stunning part of the Dales, we can't wait to return.
Highly recommended and a lovely weekend. Immaculately clean and well thought out additions. Great breakfast and helpful suggestions for a walk around Redmire. Really handy for meals at the Bolton Arms, 50 steps away. Thank you Louise and David 👍
My friend and I came up for a wedding from London. We were very tired after the long journey and David and Louise were there to greet us straight away with tea and homemade cake. Actually everything there seems homemade, fresh and local. The whole place was immaculate and beautifully maintained and safety regulations well respected the entire time. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. The attention to detail and comfort in the rooms as well...couldn’t fault it. We only wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll most certainly be back in the future.
We had stayed at the Old Town Hall earlier this year, and due to our other travel plans being cancelled due to COVID, we decided to return here, as we had had an excellent stay previously. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked through the door Louise and David’s hospitality is exceptional and they have worked hard to implement effective COVID controls without distracting from our stay.. We were offered cake and refreshments on arrival and shown to our room, Louise explained the new breakfast arrangements and offered recommendations for our evening meal. There are still nice personnel touches in the room, homemade biscuits, locally made chocolates, red and white wine, fresh milk and homemade cordials in the fridge. Our room has had the addition of an overhead rain shower fitted since our previous stay, this was lovely and great way to start the morning followed by another excellent breakfast cooked by Louise. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast, it is one of the best places we have stayed at and we will certainly return in the future.…
