We stayed in Hotel Liptovsky dvor in August 2013. This hotel has a great location for hikers, bikers, skiers, couples, families with kids and any person wishing to explore Low Tatras mountain region.
This is an excellent hotel, tastefully decorated in traditional Slovakian style – 15 cottages (salase) and the main building with a large reception area with a fireplace, restaurant, kids room. Next to it is a spa with a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, pool fitness center, tennis&squash court. There is also a nice area to sit on sunbeds and read/relax – inside or outside by the stream. Guests can borrow (for free) tennis rackets or mountain bikes.
The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, and the service and food are excellent. The breakfast was huge with a wide range of fresh fruits, pastries, cakes, breads, cheese, cold meat, eggs etc. Evening meal was great as well. The Slovak specialties were amazing.
The staff we met was, without exception, super friendly and helpful. The owners are lovely and warm and the Chef is amazing. It was quite obvious that every guest felt very welcome.
5 Stars all the way - to be honest there were no bad points at all and I would recommend this for anyone coming to Low Tatras.

extended family trip to Slovakia, we rented 4 chalets for a week with half board. The facility is well maintained and the kids loved the pool, the garden facilities and the tennis court. Very friendly staff in the front desk and we had great and highly professional waiter Martin.
The rooms are big with leaving room kitchen washroom and store room on the ground floor and two large bedrooms and a bathroom in the upper floor. All was well maintained and clean. we liked the room and felt very comfortable with two teenagers kids.
Great breakfast wide variety and tasty. Dinners were very well served but less fitted our diet, very basic salad bar and limited variety of dishes mostly of local heavy food, very limited alternatives for kids. My kids didn't eat dinner beside pasta. Grill dinner was great and they allow to bring your own wine...... I am sorry we found it only in the last night.......
The surrounding area is great, quite and good location for day trips in the area and it is close to the highway.
Cons - The kitchen is not equipped, no air condition (we had two days of 36 C and it hard to sleep at night due to the humidity), the lobby is being close at 10PM and there is no WIFI in the rooms.they charge for tab water at dinners.

We came just for a lunch. The atmosphere and service were really nice, but we were slightly disappointed with the quaility of the food, especially when you consider the price they are asking for. We were here more times, but we will not come back again.

Dear Guest, first of all thank you very much for your feedback. I am very happy that you do consider, the atmosphere and service really nice! We do a hard job to create it. I do apology for inconvenience you may experience. I am sorry that you did not ask senior management (F&B man.) or myself to come to your table as we could discuss your issue in person. I am present at The Hotel around the clock as it is home for our family as well and I do not recall any complain at all. As we do take it seriously and we would like to improve things ASAP, I will appreciate more details from your side: date & time of your visit, what went slightly wrong, etc... Could you be so kind and sent me your contact or contact me on rholec@liptovskydvor.sk or mobile 00421 905 921 949 so we can discuss it in more detail. Otherwise it will be more difficult for me and my team. I would like assure you that we are using only quality and fresh local products which leads to higher cost. Fortunately for our guest, we will never compromise on quality to get the price lover. I hope that you do understand our mission. PS. I hope that you will be so generous that we will get an other chance to prove our quality to you. It will be my personal pleasure to welcome you here. Stayed here for 6 nights with my 3 children in their wonderful log cabins....the place is simply wonderful! The cabins were perfect with 2 bathrooms, log fires, 2 bedrooms, and small sink area...right in the woods by a stream. We had meals included, but it limited us a bit with travelling so I'm not sure I'd take that option again, but the hotel itself was simply wonderful for a summer family holiday - the staff were so helpful and accommodating. There was an indoor pool, masseuse, outdoor hot tub by the stream - which was wonderful!- and so many activities to do. We had an amazing summer holiday and fell in love with the country! Highly recommended...

Liked · Having an own private chalet and still having services as in a hotel, that is perfect combination. Possibility of serving meals directly to our chalet was great as well. Chalet was perfectly clean, quite spacious, with upper floor being a bit warmer and ground floor a bit cold, which was very nice during summer heatwaves. There was no wifi at chalets, as it was written we should speak to each other :) That is cool in this day and age, however I still had phone with data with me... :) The chalet provides privacy, it is furnished in cozy alpine style and it had room for skis, which we used to store our mtb bikes. Food they served was delicious. Breakfast was great, with several choices and with chef making great omelettes. Lunch and dinners were great, I would even dare to say that exceptional. The more and mroe used way how to cook food - sous vide - is quite popular in their kitchen and that is great, as I really appreciate slow-food, which is really delicious. Location is perfect, one can stay mroe than a week and still have things to do. We were biking around with my wife at our mountainbikes and there were plenty of routes we did not explore, so it is possible we might return back. Of course it is a bit pricey to afford all what I have just mentioned.
Disliked · Speaking of things being expensive, there were services considered "on top" which in my opinion could have been charged in a different way. For example for those who wish to use fireplace at the chalet, there was a fee of 10€ for that. For bringing an order to chalet (e.g. dinner), there was fee of 8€. And actually, I really think that it is written in chalet "rule-book" that if you order dinner over 30€, you don´t have to pay 8€ fee. So we did, but at the end when checking out, the staff was convincing me there is no such note. As I did not want to brag about 8€, I let that go, as my overall experience was quite good. But since then I am now really curious whether I am not able to comprehend and understand text, or I paid 8€ extra.

Dear absolut2 , Thank you for choosing our Hotel **** Liptovský dvor for your vacation. We are very happy that you felt comfortable in our chalets and enjoyed your meal. On the other hand, I am sorry about what happened to the delivery fee. I would like to apologize to you and offer as an excuse an 8€ credit for a future visit or we will refund this money to you. Please contact us at info@liptovskydvor.sk. From our arrival to our departure we had another amazing week. The hotel communication and help in advising of lift passes and ski hire pre-trip also helped hugely. The accommodation is spacious and lovely and warm - even if -10 outside. The food was even better than the year before - if that is possible - and Peter the Chef is as attentive cooking a child's omelette in the morning as he must be conjuring up the feasts we had every evening. What made fab times even more divine was the snow - draped on everything - it really did look like a fairy tale place to be. Great ski area, and the accommodation is just 50m or so from the free ski bus stop. All in all fab times.

Loved the cabins. What more do you want; log fire, national park on your doorstep, pool, sauna and a great restaurant.
Lots of great walks can be made from the cabins. Plus, if you want then you can also catch a ski bus.

Tried a six day break near the Tatry Mountains in a very well run resort. Used 2 cottages which had 2 double bedroons each plus a spare single. Meals were included on site at a large log traditional restaurant and included roast duck, wild boar and venison The chef cooked freshly each day and the staff were very attentive and professional.Took advantage of the Massages available and there was a hot tub and small pool.Good base for exploring the mountains which we did.Children were catered for and Richard and Jana were good hosts being very helpful and attentive. Good fresh air walks and pleasant experience

Dear Brian, thank you very much for your kind review. I am pleased to see that you and your family did enjoy your vacation fully. Regarding the food it is extra delight because for some foreign guest Slovakian cousin may feel heavy. Our Executive Chef Peter Bracho has a tough job to change it bit lighter. I think we succeeded :) Brian please pass my warm regards to whole family and I hope to see you back soon. with love... Richard & Jana
