This hotel is an exellent hotel to stay in it is situated in the rhine valley ,Werner and his family can not do enough for you ,the food is plain and simple and delicious rooms are comfortable and spotlesss there are no lifts so if you have a disability you do need a ground floor as it is a lot of stairs to climb ONE PROBLEM WOULD NOT TRAVEL WITH MAJESTIC COACHES AGAIN unless they put on a decent coach to travel from the south west of england to germany other than that holiday was great

We have just returned from a 5 day break with Majestic coach tours. The hotel was well placed with walking along the Rhine from the door, also a short walk up the hill took you to a castle with spectacular views. We had a warm welcome with sandwiches and hot drinks. The bedroom although not large was clean, comfortable, warm with plenty of hot water. The food was very good. The breakfast had plenty of choice of cereals, rolls, meat, cheese also toast, jams, marmalade and honey. The evening meal, although it was a set menu, was varied, and very tasty, especially the apple strudel ! Served by very friendly staff.
Our host Werner was unwell, so we didn't have a party night, but the atmosphere was very good, with music and a free bar.

Fantastic value - set menu each night but very good - breakfast was continental - maybe an extra cereal choice other than cornflakes wouldn't go a miss. Lovely friendly hotel. Werner was a great host. Every night was a party especially the silly hat night. Everything was very clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff

Booked through Majestic. Air con broke and dripping on travellers. Coach drivers spoke to us like children. Told off for not getting cases on coach (5 feet away afrer lugging down stairs and steps from hotel!). Small loo long journey through Germany. Hotel miles from anywhere, 40 min walk to anything only 2 shops nearby. No choice of food at all, salad half a tom between 4, no bread allowed with soup, no water allowed with meals unless paid for. What an awful holiday, stopped off at duty free which was a tin shed, but only had 20 mins to inc a toilet break as 'stipulated and stressed' by drivers. Hotel on a hill and unsuitable for elderley people. AWFUL HOL!

Stayed here with Majestic's tour of the Rhine. Hotel, rooms, bathroom very clean and bed comfortable. Main evening meal was very good. Three courses, set menu, nicely cooked and served. Breakfast buffet ok, but one of the most sparse I have come across. Cereals, bread rolls, ham, cheese, jam, tea. Coffee from machine was awful.

However, the owner did not really come over as very welcoming. We arrived late and tea and sandwiches were served, which was very nice. The owner got his "rules and regulations" over with some false humour. From then on, there was not much humour from him. Our programme was supposed to include an evening of live music and dancing. Each of the three evenings we asked if we were to have the live music and he just brushed if off. In the end, we had the same CD (Abba/Best of the 50's and 60s) each evening. Our driver told us he was very ill, but in that case he should not have been working.

After dinner, there were no comfortable seats to sit and relax in. If you were not lucky enough to get one of the few seats outside on the pavement, your only choice was to stay at the dining table. There was a door with a sign "Lounge" but this was out of bounds.

There is no lift and we had to carry out own cases up three flights of stairs to the top (3rd) floor. A total of 54 steps. We were in the front and the refuse collectors and chiming church bell disturbed us. Rooms at the back may have been quieter.

There was free Wi-Fi reception in the bar area.

I recently travelled to the Rhein Valley and stayed at the Hotel Singender Wirt situated in Kamp Bornhofen. We had taken a 3 day coach trip with Phoenix Holidays, (the least said, the better......never again!) and this small hotel was our Oasis. On arrival at the Hotel the Manager greeted us all and handed out the room keys. Our room was on the 3rd floor which is only accessed by stairs (no lifts) which wasnt too good for some of the less mobile and elderly guests in our party. However when we made it to the room which was situated in an annex we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with en suite shower room (no bath). There were no coffee making facilities but we had taken a small travel kettle which sufficed. There was also a TV in the room showing 7 stations, all German bar one which was CNN. This didnt bother us as we wanted to enjoy the sights of the Christmas markets in Koblenz which was approximately 20 mins by coach or 15 by train which was 1.5 km from the Hotel on a flat road.
Evening meals were extra but Breakfast was included, it was continental style and there was plenty available. The evening meals were approx 10 euros paid daily if you required and were very nice, typical German fare and very tasty. These were both served downstairs in the small restaurant / bar area. The bar prices werent too horendous either.
The Owner, Werner , was excellent and couldnt do enough to make you feel welcome. He hosted a party night on the last night of our stay which seemed to be open to all guests not just phoenix holidays, it was great fun and a fitting end to a lovely stay.
As we were on a coach tour our free time was limited so we couldnt explore the Kamp Borhofen area as we wouldve liked, although it did look fantastic. However we did vist Cochem, Koblenz, Boppart and Rudesheim which are all definately worth a vist especially at Xmas with the Markets in full swing..
A word of warning though, do not travel with Phoenix holidays if you dont want a very lengthy coach journey, coaches that break down and guides and drivers that are willing to leave guests in a strange city at the drop of a hat. The words Nominal and roll are completely unheard of with this second rate company. Cheap prices equal cheap service.

Food was good, staff friendly, however the holiday was not as advertised or hotel. We went on an organised trip through a coach company. We were put up the top of hotel in which you had to go outside from the second floor to reach. Rooms were clean, beds comfy. As long as no one else was using water you either got a cold or hot shower. Walls very thin could hear conversations from other rooms. Electric went out as getting ready in morning, no drinks facilities in rooms, no entertainment as advertised, no comfortable place to sit except at dinner table. No lifts and felt for the older people who had to climb many stairs. Free bar for 3 nights included but made to feel bad if used.

coach trip with Gold Crest Coach Holidays. The owner obviously had a bee in his bonnet about being forced to have a free 1.5 hour bar on both nights. We were 'requested' to buy our share of drinks as well as partaking of the free ones. Thats fine, i hadn't expected any free drinks and two of us bought the equivalent of a bottle of wine before dinner and drinks after dinner!! Guests drinking spirits were paying all night as not included in the free bar. Wasn't expected be subjected to a nasty rant about one guest being a 'tight git' even though he had been buying drinks himself . The rant went on with guests being asked how long was he expected to pay his bar staff if we didn't buy drinks, being accused of stealing glasses and rooms being a mess and disgusting. As you had to return you glass for another drink whether paid for or not i can't see how or why you would want to steal a hotel glass ?? the trip consisted of mostly middle aged to elderly people, hardly drunken teenagers tearing their rooms up!! Everyone left the bar at this point and he went outside and continued to insult the rest of the coach party. The issue seemed with the coach company, but we bore the brunt of this. Shame as a nice hotel and food and young ladies serving dinner and the bar were nice and I would have recommended it apart from the above. Lots of stairs to rooms and no lift only drawback if elderly or not mobile. Surrounding area very pretty and close to the Rhine. Host needs to address his issues with the company not the guests as it spoilt a very nice trip with the whole coach talked of his behaviour on the journey home rather than the nice places we had seen which was a shame as at the end of the day we had paid the price quoted for the holiday to the holiday company and he had accepted their terms for the trip. Either do that graciously or don't accept their bookings.

I have been to Werner's three times now and every time its been wonderful. Werner been a great host every time. Always ready with a joke to tell. The family are a joy, always smiling and happy to help. Rooms are comfortable. Food plenty. Just love it there. We went with Majestic coaches. Looking forward to going back in December for the Christmas markets.
