We tried to get accommodation in Civitivecchia prior to our cruise but all hotels were full. We were lucky to get a great room at Hotel Villa Tirreno in a neighbouring town Tarquinia. Spotless accommodation and excellent restaurant . The owner personally drove us into this medieval town so we could explore. The hotel arranged transfer from Rome and to...

The entire staff at the hotel was superb and it was clear that everyone enjoyed their job. You really feel like you are staying at your friend's villa! The hotel provided pick-up from the cruise terminal, shuttle service to town and car service to FCO. We did not have a rental car and were extremely happy to have these services....

Friendly staff, gym and pool just what we needed. Great food and great room with big balcony. Staff also spoke good English which was very helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay.

Amazing and just what was needed on the final night of our holiday. Great room, very clean, friendly staff, lovely pool, tasty food (dinner and breakfast) and overall good value. I cannot recommend this place highly enough although I don't believe there is much to visit in the local area.

Friendly staff and a really good breakfast. Our room was huge and we had a huge patio to ourselves as well. The pool was a good size and clean. We visited Tarquinia and ate out there. The food in the hotel was better! They provide a free shuttle bus to the beach and when we asked them to book us...

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at the Villa Tirreno on the edge of the historic town of Tarquinia. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the service from the staff outstanding. Staff seemed very proud of the hotel and very committed to the wellbeing of guests which is nice to find! The swimming pool was delightful and generally quiet....

We had originally been looking to stay in the Grosseto area further north to split up our Pisa to Rome drive but ended up picking Villa Tirreno because of the reviews and perceived good value for money. And we're so glad we picked it. It's perfect for anyone who has a car as it's perfectly placed just off the motorway...

This hotel is NOT located in the heart of the walled town, but that actually makes it MORE convenient if you are in transit and have a car. The hotel is easy to find on the main road into Tarquinia, and has a parking lot. Getting to the walled city is easy, and can mostly be done on stairs scaling...

This is the third time we visited this hotel. We had just finished stressful three days in Rome and then Tarquinia is a treat to come back to. The hotel has reasonable prices. Great staff who is polite and helpful. Everything just works at this hotel. Strong and dedicated leadership demonstrated by all staff. Great garden, some noise from traffic.
