***Logis Hôtel in the heart of the Royan Atlantique destination 10 mins from Royan, the soul and character of a house that cultivates a gentle way of life ... Welcome to our house ! It was in an enchanting site at the gates of the Seudre estuary, between oyster parks and fine sandy beaches, that Marc and I, Amandine, decided to settle down. After several years spent in France and abroad working in the hotel and restaurant industries, we are delighted to share with you the real crush that we had for this former family cafe-inn nestling in the pretty spa resort of Saujon. Here we welcome you as your friends. You can count on us to reveal some of our best "secret addresses" to you. Concerned about your comfort, Le Richelieu has been completely renovated in recent years in the two elegant stone buildings with authentic charm that house our hotel. Today, we are proud and happy to provide you with: 17 pretty rooms, a bar, a terrace open onto a landscaped garden. We are also fortunate to have within our walls a restaurant proposing seasonal gourmet cuisine "Le Ménestrel" which is run by Chef Owner David Menestrel. See you soon ! Amandine and Marc Duverneuil

We spent a wonderful 12 nights at the hotel which was situated in the centre of Saujon, a small town in the Charente Maritime region. Originally we had booked 9 nights but the hotel was so good that we extended our stay by another 3 nights before driving back to the UK. The owners, Amandine and Marc, were very welcoming and extremely attentive. They recommended and booked tables for us at local restaurants most evenings. Otherwise they prepared a special selection of delicious local cheeses and hams and fruit with a local wine for us to eat in their breakfast room in the evening after it had closed. Most days they recommended local places of interest to visit which was very helpful. We were upgraded to a suite which was very good as we arrived during a heatwave. All the rooms and public areas had air conditioning which was very necessary when outdoor temperatures reached over 40 degrees Centigrade. The standard of cleanliness was excellent as was the copious and delicious breakfast. In conclusion, we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel as we will definitely be returning there sometime in the future.

We had an excellent stay in this lovely hotel. The hosts are very helpful and attentive. Rooms are very clean and there is everything you need. Royan is worth a visit with its beautiful beach and houses. A good reason to go back soon.

This is a lovely, family-run hotel, and we had a marvelous vacation here. We planned to stay one night, and we stayed for an entire week! The hosts are kind, helpful, and relaxed. Breakfast is super yummy. Abundant French bread yummies, yogurt, meats, and fruit are provided for breakfast with as much coffee as you need. (It's an American-style coffee pot with bottomless coffee, but with the quality of French coffee. So delish. Also, this is a larger breakfast than you will find at other places.) We love this hotel so much, and we feel like the hosts made sure we were comfortable and relaxed to have a truly relaxing vacation. I'm grateful to them for making my first visit to this area of France so very special. Thank you. Saujon itself is a sweet little town. For driving, parking is super convenient at this hotel. The half hour to forty minutes to the ocean is well worth it. (The "commute" is no problem at all -- just watch traffic patterns and avoid busy hours.) It is centrally located for touring, too. The cost for quality is fantastic. I look forward to returning here in future for another amazing vacation. :)

We were treated so well and our host went out of her way to find our hotel in our next destination of Bordeaux, reserving the rooms and printing a map to get us there. Hotel immaculate and air conditioning in room.

Stayed for a week in may this hotel is very clean and cannot fault Xavier & Bernadette. They made us feel very welcome and at home. Their accessible bedroom with wet room was great for my husband who is in a wheelchair.

We seem to be lucky on our 6 week drive in France, looked at 1 hotel in Royan glad it was a dump and rude desk person, ended up in Saujon. This was the first hotel we see and would highly recommend, good sleep, good breakfast, right price + nice people running it.

We stayed when it was very hot in France, pity no air conditioning in our room, but the window was big and looked over the square/carpark. Room was clean and comfortable and we particularly liked the bathroom. Plenty of space and functional, we wish all hotels would follow the design. Happy to recommend this hotel to any visitor to quiet Saujon.

The hotel is located at the entrance of Saujon. The room and bathroom were of a good size. I would like to have had bigger towels and I was disappointed with a brown stain on the toilete. We arrived late (23h) and the ower was not so friendly because we needed a place to eat and he simply said there was nothing around open. After going around Saujon we found 2 pizzerias open and we bought a pizza at one of them. I would just like that the owner would have been a little more friendly. The parking place is very close to the hotel and there are a lot of free spaces to park the car.

I am always sceptical when the word 'boutique' is attributed to a hotel.Rightly or wrongly my instinct tells me it is trying to disguise something! In this case as neat and tidy as the rooms were and decorated in a contemporary style, they really were small! We had a 4 night stay and found ourselves keeping much of our belongings in the car because there was just nowhere to hang or put them without feeling extremely cluttered.Fortunately there is a free public car park adjacent. We had read of the restaurant but were unable to secure a reservation as either House Full or Closed signs were up or there was a general air of unhelpfulness. Initially we were frustrated by not being able to eat near home and in view of the fact Saujon appears to be a bit of a 'one horse town', we opted to venture further a field and found some very reasonable restaurants up the coast where the local seafood is extremely good value. We didn't take breakfast as it appeared to be expensive for what was on offer. All through our visit you felt there was perhaps a lack of warmth in the hospitality and the most animated the management became was when preparing the bill...the fact that we didn't share a common language didn't help and was only brokered by our attempts to be understood.
