Detailed Reviews
We decided to take a mini break not too far from home and the Talbot Stillorgan was a great location for a weekend, the hotel is upto date will all Covid-19 requirements, lots of sanitizers, rooms were cleaned ,sanitized and sealed before arrival - we were given the choice of having room serviced or not during our stay. We booked times for our meals in advance, great breakfast still available, everything as before just in individual portions or served by the staff. Tables spaced apart from each other and the staff were great. The hotel has a lovely outdoor courtyard in the centre of the building as well. The location is great - 15 to 20min drive from the Cliff walk Bray to Greystones, Powerscourt Gardens and lovely local swimming spots. Bikes can be hired at the hotel as well, did not do so this time but would love to return and try that as there seemed to be lots of cycle paths in that area. I would return, it was so nice to have a lovely hotel with great staff not too far from home.

Stayed there recently for a night, the room was lovely and spacious and modern, was relatively quiet even though we were near the main road. Only issue with the room was that the light from the hall came through under the door and lit up half the room when the lights were off, there seemed to be a bit of a gap under the door so when some passed we heard them also. The lift took us to a floor but there were still stairs up and down we needed to traverse to get to the room so was a bit of a pain with the suitcases. We had dinner in the restaurant and really enjoyed our meal, there was a blond man and another server who were very lovely and the food came out quickly and we were well looked after. The breakfast was really good, lots of choice and even gluten free bread that they toast so no contamination from the communal toaster. Nice hotel to stay in we enjoyed our stay.

Was slightly worried about a weekend away with the current situation but was immediately reassured once we entered the hotel. All staff were wearing masks including restaurant staff and cleaning staff and our room had been sealed after it was cleaned and sanitised, there was also hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel. We stayed in one of the suites (room 190) and found it to be spotless and the decor was amazing, bed was comfy and the fan/heating was easy to use meaning we were able to keep the room at a comfortable temp, tea and coffee facilities are also provided, the only downside was that the TV wasnt Netflix enabled. All staff in the hotel were really friendly and were more than happy to help. We ate in the restaurant both nights, you had to pre book your time which meant the restaurant wasnt overcrowded, there was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was delicious and I was pleased that the breakfast each morning was plated up by the chef meaning you didnt have to touch utensils etc that others had used before you. If you like shopping there is a little shopping village within 10mins walk of the hotel and a larger shopping centre (Dundrum town centre) 10mins drive away. Overall we had an amazing couple of days away and would definitely book here again

As a long term guest I've had a very comfortable stay-really quite rooms ideal for study or work with friendly staff, spotless hotel environment, service always on point offering great attention to guests needs. The food is always well presented and cooked to your individual liking. It is clear that there is a great service team and management team behind its success.

Looked forward to the stay the hotel looked amazing. Free parking was great. Check in was fast but when we got to the room looked great but the bed was so so noisy even sitting on it it was a junior suite and for €139 a night left a sour taste. Sleeping in it was a nightmare every move was a creek. Hotel was cleaned and sanitised we had to book for dinner which was fine but the service was so so slow and other people said the same we had to ask twice for the bill as the first girl forgot. Between courses it took sooo long for staff to come Back and there wasn’t that many people dining which made it worse. Amazing hotel great room but just didn’t feel like it was worth €139 for a junior suite for one night with the service.

Dear guest, Thank you for reviewing the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan. Glad to hear you had a good stay with us. Sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy it, especially the food service, what is generally so much appreciated by our customers. At that stage Covid-19 protocols were posing great challenges for all hospitality service, but we can assure you we have put it behind us. Looking forward to welcoming you back in the future. Just visited this lovely hotel this weekend and had a great stay. The staff in the hotel were 10/10. Highly skilled and experienced in their field of expertise.
We had dinner both nights and the food was 100%. Beef burger I highly recommend and the pizzas are very very good.
The rooms were lovely and clean and high end Samsung television which made connecting the laptop easy....none of those garbage TV models you see in some hotels where they bought a bulk of them in a Lidl weekend special.
The most important part of the hotel experience for me is the breakfast. It’s very important and this hotels breakfast standard was above and beyond what was expected. Hashbrownes are an essentially part of a hit breakfast and there’s a lot of 5 Star hotels that do not provide this. The lads in Stillorgan Park had the most beautiful golden Hashbrownes Iv ever seen and tasted. Cooked beautifully to perfection....there should be a hospitality award for this category, they would be All Ireland champs! The rest of the fry up was excellent. Sausages, Rashers, Beans and Pudding. The breakfast made my weekend and can’t wait to stay again.
Lads, to my knowledge you guys are a 4 star hotel, but yous had a 5 star performance this weekend and you and all the staff should be particularly proud of that. I can’t wait to be back after level 5 but please ensure you do not remove the Hadhbrowns from the breakfast like some of your neighbouring hotels.

We recently enjoyed a three night mini break at the Talbot Hotel in Stillorgan. The room was very comfortable and well proportioned, the staff were friendly and attentive and there was a very good selection on the menu and at breakfast. It was also obvious that the hotel had taken its responsibilities around Covid-19 seriously with all staff wearing visors or masks and sanitation stations were distributed around each floor and at the lifts. Floor markings were also in place. We certainly felt reassured during our stay. I would definitely recommend the Talbot as a good place to stay in Dublin.

From the moment we arrived to check in, this short staycation in the Talbot Stillorgan was excellent. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile from Bala on the front desk, and he was very helpful, friendly and professional during check-in. We were delighted to be upgraded to a deluxe room which was spotless, huge and very tastefully decorated. Service and food during both dinner and breakfast were excellent, tables arranged safely and all staff we encountered during our stay were efficient, attentive and friendly. Ample free car parking was also a bonus - so much less stressful than staying in the city centre. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Dublin. Thanks to all the staff for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Had a voucher to stay in the hotel. The reception staff were all very helpful and friendly. On arrival, we were upgraded to a bigger room which was a nice gesture. The breakfast in the morning was nice, and the food and service in the bar was good too. The rooms were clean and the accommodation staff made a good job of the room each day so it looked put together again when we got back after a busy day. It's location is quite a distance from the city centre, but you can get a bus to the centre for €3 per person, which takes about 25 minutes. All in all, we had a lovely stay.

Booking
Booked a family room with breakfast (kids eat free deal)for two nights directly on the hotels website. Received email confirmation immediately. The next day,I received a welcome information email with information on their covid health and safety measures and option to book breakfast times which I did.
Room
Arrived to a friendly and efficient check in. When we got to the room there was a lovely surprise of treats left on the children's beds. Room was a double bed and two singles. It wasn't quite the picture I'd seen on booking page which looked like the two singles were in a separate alcove of the room, which we thought would be nice for us to watch TV after the kids went to sleep. Instead it was a single either side of the double. Room was spacious though and beds comfy so we all slept well.
Location
It's in a nice quiet area and was ideal for our needs for this family trip to Dublin. There was a shop across the road.
Amenities
Free onsite car parking
Food
Breakfast both mornings in the Purple Sage restaurant, good selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit to pick up and hot food served at the counter. Tea/coffee/juice and toast was brought to our table. Staff were very friendly and social distancing was well observed and facilitated.
We ate in the Brass bar on both nights. We only reserved our table each day an hour or two beforehand. As with all staff we encountered, they were extremely welcoming and friendly to us and our children. They gave the children a special kids menu with puzzles on it and a Colouring set with crayons, which they enjoyed doing while waiting for their food. Children's menu was good value at €3 starters/dessert and €7 mains but a deal of two courses for €9 or three courses for €11. Portions were large and food was good. The first night I had a steak sandwich and husband had chicken mains. Both very tasty. Kids enjoyed their pizza and spaghetti bolognese. The second night I had a chicken burger (unfortunately the thick cut chips were not fully cooked) and my husband had the steak which he said was excellent. The kids shared garlic bread starter and pizza and chips. Thought the desserts were expensive at 7. 50 as cake slices were not that big. The children's desserts were nearly more filling for less than half the price!
This was our first hotel stay in about 18 months and we enjoyed it alot. Service was very good and everywhere felt clean, safe and sanitised. The price we paid was fair for our two nights B&B.

A taxi would be a good choice.
Not that I know of. But I doubt it very much.
You can either get the Aircoach from just across the road from the hotel, which runs every half hour or so and costs about € 10 pp. It takes just under 1 hour. It may be worth getting a taxi if you have a group of 3 or 4, it's faster but a bit more expensive, possibly around € 50, I'm not sure about that.
Room and service are excellent specially in the restaurant. Cost and availability are very reasonable
