Michael is fabulous - a hugely warm welcome even though we were quite late getting there - he carried some heavy suitcases for our group of 8 upstairs for us - extremely dog friendly and my dog was allowed to stay in the room and sit in the restaurant for breakfast - lovely comfy beds and clean rooms and only...

Hotel Zur Alten Brucke is a charming old hotel in lovely little Schiltach, right on the Schiltach River. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. The owner was as friendly as you will ever find, and his meals were excellent. We hope to return to Schiltach and hopefully stay at the Alten Brucke again.

Zur Alten Brucke is beyond EXCELLENT! We were arriving late at night and our host and kitchen stayed up to welcome us! When we arrived we were exhausted and hungry after a long journey. The kitchen stayed up for us and cooked us the best meal I've ever had. Our room was clean and comfortable and they even let us...

This was a fantastic hotel - we had a very warm and friendly welcome. The location is lovely and the food is amazing. The room we had was very comfortable and had a great view of the river at the front of the hotel. We will definitely be staying here again!

This charming gasthof is situated beside the pretty River Schiltach and Schiltach itself is surrounded by the Black Forest. Just across the water is a lovely café which serves brilliant cakes and coffee. The shop sells really nice local produce - good quality fruit jams and country fruit wine. In fact this pretty town has lots to interest you after...

we stayed two nights here and nothing was too much trouble for Michael. we wanted to do some hikes in the area so Michael called his wife Lisa and she told us some nice walks departing Schiltach and recommended the nearby zipline for a thrill. unfortunately it was booked out for the day we were there but we still had...

Difficult to consider a better host than Michael. We were only there overnight, but the welcome and help we received could not have been bettered. Evening meal was good and the breakfast was exceptional ( better selection of fresh fruit than we have seen in many 4star hotels ) Just one difficulty for us was the two flights of stairs...

Our family of four had a fantastic night at Zur Alten Brucke in Schiltach. Michael is as nice and welcoming as all of the reviews say; the hotel is very good value for money; the rooms were spotless; the meals (dinner and breakfast) were perfectly traditional; and the town itself is like a fairytale. Thank you Michael for a great...

Three holidays in Germany and three trips to Schiltach and stays at Zur Alten Brucke. Schiltach is a beautiful town in the Black forest and Zur Alten Brucke is a great place to stay. The hotel's location by the river is ideal. One could not find a more enjoyable setting than sitting next to the river at the hotel's biergarten....

We had a wonderful stay in this charming, small town in the German Black Forest. Really has the feel of an inn which is exactly what we wanted. We stayed on the top floor with attached wash room and balcony access. We only stayed one night but we were struck by the warm hospitality of the owner, Michael. He is...
