We offer a range of family, and disabled-friendly accommodation to suit all pockets without sacrifice to comfort or quality. Situated close to the major towns of Saumur, Angers and Tours. Weekend breaks, long-term rentals or holiday stays are all welcome here. Our three lovingly renovated gîtes offer spacious accommodation to a good specification, sleeping up to 5 people in Héron, 5 in Hibou and 2/3 in Chardonneret. The campsite has ten pitches, all arranged around the edge of a large lawned area of almost half an acre. Lovely peaceful campsite situated in a gorgeous forest which is perfect for walking and cycling. Hosts are very welcoming and helpful and great cooks. They will introduce you to great produce made in the local farm. Swimming is an added bonus.

Following a chat on a nearby camping car park aire, we visited this lovely small campsite. Such a lovely welcome and a cup of tea! The campsite is small, set in a truly rural location and woodland walks. Perfectly peaceful apart from the cuckoos and the newly arrived swallows and other birdsong hence the aptly named location. Whilst not newly fitted out the facilities were adequate and joy of joys plenty of hot water in the showers. Nice social area and bar for gathering and chatting to your fellow campers, plus gites if you desire that type of accommodation. English couple owned so that's great too.

True to its name, birdsong is the background sound at this charming site. The owners are delightful. The facilities clean, the showers are wonderfully hot. Syb and Stu cooked a meal for us. The wood oven cooked pizza was very good. We hope to return.

Lovely visit for 5 nights. Hosts welcoming. Had a great pizza provided one evening. As it was the last week of September it was quiet but that suited us. Bar was still open most nights and I particularly enjoyed the sparking red wine on offer. Facilities were good and clean and showers were hot. It's a bit further out than other campsites but still easy enough to get out and explore and Saumur isn't too far at all. We all enjoyed the trip to see the goats and my little boy enjoyed chasing the chickens. Had a great week in the loire and this campsite really did make the holiday!

We spent a week at Le Chant – a return visit since our previous one 10 years ago. It was incredible to see how much had changed, and yet it was all still so comfortably familiar. A holiday at Le Chant d’Oiseau is an immersive experience – if you want it to be. It’s a unique site, in terms of the friendly and community feeling that Stu & Syb have developed, and work to maintain. There are endless opportunities to meet new people and socialise: over a pizza, the pool table, the bi-weekly 4-course meal that Syb prepares, or simply watching the telly in the barn. It should be said, there is no pressure of expectation to take part, but it’s very convivial. We stayed in first floor Gite ‘Hibou’ this time. Very nicely laid out and well equipped. The welcome hamper was indeed very welcoming after a very early start and a long day's drive. Comfortable beds, and hot water as required. The small fridge did for us, and the kitchen - indeed the whole gite - very well appointed. The small private garden was a sun spot in which we enjoyed our morning giant pastries and coffee. Oh yes - there is a bakery delivery most mornings (pastries and bread), which is well worth getting involved with. Outstanding. The pool is wonderful. It's only little, but perfect for a dip during the afternoon. Stu always has one project or other on the go, be it a barn renovation or building a new tree house. He told us ‘no more’, but oddly enough we didn’t believe him. Le Chant really is like a home from home, even if your home for the week is a tent. It is relaxing and familiar and a treasure to return to, which is why there seems to now be a global community of Le Chant guests, all tethered by an invisible elastic thread to a tiny, perfect spot in the middle of the Loire Valley. We’ll feel the pull again soon, I know. It just won’t be as we left it.

A small but perfectly-formed campsite with facilities you'd expect from larger, impersonal site but with the love, care and attention of amazing hosts Stu and Syb. We stayed here last year unexpectedly when friends of ours staying in their camper had a string of serious medical emergencies. We came to provide support but there really was no need as Stu and Syb were going above and beyond the call of duty for both of them around the clock. This year's visit was still somewhat spur of the moment - our same friends were back on site for the holiday they didn't get to enjoy last year and we decided to drop by for a few nights to enjoy Le Chant d'Oiseau under happier circumstances. Stu and Syb gave us their customary warm welcome, even saving us the pitch with best hammock-hanging potential and surprising us with champagne on the evening of my birthday. We enjoyed use of the fabulous pool and petanque court, partaking in the delicious table d'hôtes meal night and fabulous home cooked pizzas. This year it would be me with the medical problem - I developed painful gout in one of my big toes, so painful it was as though I'd broken it. Once again Stu and Syb's kindness shone through with Stu gifting me an unopened jar of celery seed tablets he takes for the same condition. Not only that but they bought pain relief tablets for me from the local pharmacy when they had driven into the village. In a year of the staycation it's taken a relatively brave Brit to cross the channel, but Stu and Syb made us feel safe during our stay. Hand sanitizer is provided everywhere you could expect. Of three French campsites I've stayed on this summer, Le Chant d'Oiseau is the only one to have asked to see my Pass Sanitaire - even huge chain Huttopia Les Pins didn't ask to see it when I arrived this afternoon. As they've done for others staying with them this summer Stu and Syb arranged for our pre-crossing Covid test at the local pharmacy, something so hard to contemplate arranging for ourselves we're making a point of returning that way after our final four nights on the coast. Stu and Syb have literally got your back. There's just no reason not to visit this year and I'm pleased we did. Thanks for taking such great care of us in your little piece of French countryside paradise. Mark and Tony

What a gem of a find. This is more than a normal camper van stopover, it has all the facilities that you would expect. But this has personality, the welcome and attention given by our hosts Stu and Syb Bradley was outstanding. Thank you both we will be back, just hopefully longer

When I first saw Le Chant d'Oiseau on Instagram or Facebook I wasn't to convinced about going to this campsite. When I came back from visiting Syb and Stu home and their campsite, my opinion changed. I was very pleased with everything that they offered. The food was good and the atmosphere was really nice. Stu and Syb know how to welcome guest into their home. I would definitely recommend any family and friends here to spend some time together. It is a small, very cozy environment and everyone gets along. So, there will be no problem in having fun at Le Chant d'Oiseau.

Firstly about the campsite- it is beautiful, perfectly sized campsite for people who don’t want big and impersonal. It has everything you need and more. A beautiful new swimming pool which was a joy to swim in and table d’hôtes that you can join in with if you wish and absolutely no pressure if you don’t. There’s a bar and bread is delivered. All very clean and for this summer specifically, very very safe with antibac stations everywhere. This is our favourite campsite under any normal circumstances. The surrounding area is stunning with lots of forest walks and as we discovered this year, great cycling! HOWEVER, what really sets this place apart from anywhere else are the owners, Stu and Syb. You feel welcomed and you start to relax the minute you arrive because of their super friendly natures. This summer turned in to not one but three major medical events for my husband two of them potentially fatal and Stu and Syb were there for both of us for the full five and a half weeks that it spanned. They looked after me each time my husband was in hospital, they drove us to hospitals and helped with French translating! They fed me to keep me going and didn’t complain even on the third event when we woke them in the middle of the night to go to A and E. I don’t know anywhere else in the world, and we’ve travelled extensively, where you would be looked after so well and compassionately. We will never be able to thank them enough for their kindness and patience. This wasn’t our first visit, but this time we feel like we added to our family. If you want more than just ‘a campsite’ and you want to be looked after so you can really enjoy your time away...then this is the most amazing place to be!
