As I tend to 'business travel' south rather than north, I often end up using a chain hotel for convenience and ease of booking. This time I needed to be in rural Northumberland which means non-chain country. Nice greeting on arrival but told, not shown, that my room in the annexe was over the road - not great but not...

Thank you for your review, we hope you enjoyed your time in the friendly north east. The Radcliffe is currently undergoing some 'sprucing up' with the rooms being decorated as we speak as we acknowledge that it was in need of some love and attention. We are also making changes to the residents areas such as the lounge to make...

We have visited Corbridge twice and stayed for one night stopovers at the Angel Inn. We like the overall experience, an interesting small town to walk around, with several very good class clothing shops. The exceptionally good Chinese Restaurant is a must for our evening meal. The bar/lounge areas of the Angel Inn have a rather airy bistro like character...

Thank you for taking the time to review The Angel of Corbridge and giving us a 4 star rating and some great constructive feedback. It is always lovely to hear that the staff here are fulfilling our mission of offering excellent Northumbrian hospitality. In terms of The Radcliffe which is the 'annex building' across the road, we acknowledge that the...

If you are expecting a usual sized afternoon tea please beware. I was extremely disappointed with the micro afternoon tea that I was served yesterday at the Angel. I wouldn't mind if it had been at a micro price but at £14.95 + £4.95 for a glass of Prosecco instead of a cup of tea I felt absolutely robbed! The...

We stayed here with other members of our family for a birthday celebration. Our accommodation was situated across the road in another building (which I would have liked to be informed beforehand, as we had other members of the family and we should have been together). The bedroom was adequate (hence 3* review) the bath tap was a trickle and...

We like this pub very much even though the drinks are expensive compared with the other pubs in the village. The food is good too as is the service. Our complaint is that this pub does not cater adequately for the people who live in the village and the surrounding area. We have been going there for many years and...

Natalie, thank you for taking the time to contact us through Tripadvisor and I am personally upset to see that we are not applying our mission statement in regards to offering Northumbrian Hospitality and we certainly value and respect our local guests and I apologise and promise this will be addressed. We will also ensure that we are not preparing...

The hotel and the pub need a bit tidying up, but apart from those cosmetic details, the food was good, the beer even better and the staff very accommodating. Well practised at serving the needs of walkers and cyclists. Genuinely friendly and happy to oblige with lock up for the bikes etc...

Unable to fault anything, service attentive & not intrusive, pricing very reasonable for the quality. Atmosphere warm & welcoming. Highly recommended, I would say don't take the on line booking as gospel. Even though it said they were fully booked, we rang, they weren't ! Plus people were coming in off the street & getting a table with no issue.

Popped in on spec for Sunday lunch and were squeezed in. 2 of us ate fish and chips, light crispy batter and perfectly cooked home made chips. The third had roast beef with yorkshire pud, the beef was pink in the middle (quite a feat for pub grub), Yorkshire was crispy and huge. We washed this down with beer from...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at The Angel Inn. I have to say the Roast Beef is one of my personal favourites too, especially washed down with one of our local pints. Make sure you come back in the summer to enjoy the same great food and friendly service outside in the sun :)

Lovely pub with nice food & great wine. Our room was above the bar, it was ok, comfortable but nothing special. The room was dusty and just needed a bit of attention. Breakfast the next day was nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Corbridge as an average 3 star. The pub downstairs on the other hand...

I visited the Angel yesterday, the hotel was offering a twin room for £60 b&b Fantastic value for a very pleasant room, clean and plenty spacious for 2. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and beautifully cooked. I shall definitely stay again.

The Angel Inn is a beautiful traditional inn offering great local British food with warm and comfortable rooms and an apartment. The Angel Inn has a bar offering local ales, a lounge with a real fire, a private dining room and a barn restaurant. Corbridge is a pretty village, once a market town, that lies four miles east of Hexham on the banks of the River Tyne. Today it has a reputation for excellent shopping with various fashion boutiques lining the main shopping street. Our Bar, The 'hub' of what we do here at the Angel: a great Northumbrian breakfast, an extensive 'all day' menu offering great British food sourced from Northumbrian produce, great local ales, a superb wine list and exceptional service in friendly and safe surroundings. Our Lounge: A great place to relax with friends or a book. Comfortable leather seats, real fire, newspapers, great coffees, afternoon teas, glass of wine, choice of whisky or just a place to warm up after a long walk. Our Restaurant: Our restaurant is both elegant and spacious - sporting a characterful pitched roof with exposed oak beams. A superb venue for dining, which seats up to eighty guests comfortably for private parties, Christmas lunches and dinners or weddings. Our private dining room, the Angel's Table can accomodate up to 14 guests for breakfast, meetings and family gatherings including lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and a great Sunday lunch. ... more   less
