We stayed here 2 nights and although the restaurant was not open on the night we arrived the owners were very helpful in directing us to an Italian Restaurant nearby. They even phoned ahead and booked a table for us! The hotel sits on a rocky out crop and is approached by a 45 degree slope and then 23 steps before you reach the entrance door, so not suitable for some. Additionally the rooms are then up two flights of stairs as there are no lifts. Not for the feint hearted! You have to leave your cars outside on the road but the hotel is in a quiet location and we had no issues. The owners were friendly and spoke excellent English. Rooms were lovely, well equipped including tea/coffee making facilities and had brilliant views of the nearby Castle. Breakfast was excellent with multiple choices of cereals, fruit, meat cheeses and breads. We eat in the Hotel restaurant on the 2nd night and were glad that we did as the food was very good. 0.50 lt beer was 3,90 euros, 0.2lt wine 4.90 euros, chicken salad 13.70 euros, and other meat dishes 13.90 euros. B&B was 83 euros for a double room. We would definitely stay here again although we might bring oxygen to help us climb the stairs!…
We stayed two nights, room comfy and clean. Staff friendly and speak good English as my comic book German can be embarrassing! We ate here twice and the food was good honest German grub. Breakfast is excellent. We would stay here again
Stayed for 2 nights, quiet location comfortable rooms with a fantastic view across the valley to schloss rochsburg. Food is plentiful and good value, with a wide choice at breakfast of hot and cold options. This is a beautiful region and to stay here would not be disappointing, as the hosts are all very friendly.
Great staff waiting us in evening hours, very nice rooms, very friendly to our dogs (no charge for dogs!) and also perfect food for dinner next day, what a great view from terrace of restaurant to nature and castle, a little river - so we could let our dogs go and cold in water in such a hot day! So I highly recommend this place to stay - one of the best accomodations I ever were in ;)
We stayed here before visiting Colditz castle. What a find, i dont speak much German but the hotel owners went out of their way to help me out with their limited English. Room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the schloss across the valley. There are a lot of stairs so might not suit the infirm. Restaurant food was top notch ! Breakfast was top notch! We would stay here again.
