A friend and I visited Windermere for some rest and recuperation after a busy year at work and we were not disappointed! The location is remote and quiet but within walking distance (about 5k) of Munnar centre and driving distance of a variety of different day trips that can be easily organised through the hotel. We arrived to a warm...

We cannot recommend this place more highly. It is tucked away from the centre of munnar and as a result it is so peaceful. The staff and food are exceptional and the food is served to your table and not buffet style. If you are in munnar and you don't stay here you are really missing a gem of a...

We stayed at Windemere Estate for two evenings. The quiet and secluded atmosphere was wonderful. Fantastic for nature and birds. Our accommodation was spacious and clean. We enjoyed an afternoon guided tour both days, followed by tea and snacks. The food was excellent and service was very friendly. The television room and library were quiet and comfortable areas to relax....

This place is divine- picture perfect nestled in the western ghats, the tea/ cardamom / plantations abound, it will transfer you to a different world. As it's far from the main centres of India it's well developed and under visited. We enjoyed great walks during our stay. The resort is lovely the flowers with their diversity - colour up the...

The approach is rather complicated. Kitchen staff are fairly polite. Food is extremely limited with no choice at all. Although the rooms are spacious, the tariff is too high as the room is quite drab. The cistern of the flush was leaky. No help at the reception at all. They even tend to short change if we don't double check...

This August, Windermere played the perfect host to what turned out to be 3 beautiful days of my life. We drove from Cochin to Munnar which takes around 4 hours and it is advisable to start early in order to avoid the office and school going traffic. The last 1 hour of the drive is a sensory delight dotted with...

A friend's parents recommended Windermere to us and we'll always be indebted to this recommendation. We spend two nights and two days here and every moment spent was memorable. On our arrival we were upgraded to a superior room since there was construction work going on in certain parts. We were handed over two large umbrellas and the keys to...

This property is high up in tea country (dont worry, your driver is actually going the right way) and tucked up in the hills with an amazing view below. Mohan, the manager is a perfect host, an incredible chef and happy to help with every need including showing you around the extensive property. If you are able, book directly with...

It was quite by chance we landed in Windmere Estate, Pothencode, Munnar. But we felt like staying there for more days. With very limited number of rooms spread of over in 4 acres within the vast area of a cardamom estate, with a breath taking viewpoint of entire Munnar and more, the property is not fully explored by visitors since...

This accommodation is set in the midst of a coffee and cardamom plantation with the most spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. It is tranquil and ideal for anyone wanting to 'get away from it all'. We were bowled over by the attentiveness of the staff and in particular Mohan who made us feel very special. He took time out...
