We had booked 3 nights here and ended up staying an additional night as it was just so heavenly relaxing and beautiful at Windermere. There isn't much to do and the wifi is intermittent, slow and is being switched off at 21:30 - so early nights and lots of reading. I did a brilliant hike with stunning views arranged through...

After the hustle and bustle of Cochin our tour took us here for 2 nights and the peace and quiet was lovely. The grounds are well kept and room are very spacious, clean and welcoming. Service is superb as is the food. Complementary afternoon tea and a pool with tea plantation views rounded it off nicely.

From the minute you arrive, it is a delight. The location, the views, the accommodation, the staff - all are brilliant. There is a new pool and plenty of places to relax away from your room. We were blown away by the amazing food. Strongly recommend staying here. All the trip advisor questions are irrelevant to this hotel!

A wonderful place to relax in a comfortable climate, although it did rain on one occasion, these are the mountains so it was to be expected. Excellent accommodation with all necessary facilities. Outside pool is available. Local food and BBQ very good. Staff excellent and caring. The views across the tea plantation to the mountains, Western Ghats, is superb. We...

So the layout of the place is not clear on the site but basically it is a cluster of buildings in some lovely grounds. The building include the houses where the rooms are (we stayed in an estate room - these are the ones with balconies) and there is a building which houses the restaurant and library area to relax...

I would agree with the majority of reviews, wonderfully relaxed, nice walks and after the coast pleasantly cool. You're not going to come here if you need wall to wall wifi and Muzak in the restaurant. Perfect if you're keen to taste local food and don't mind giving your liver a rest. You could bring a bottle with you there...

High in the hills above Munnar. A wonderful vista from the property, our chalet and the viewpoint. We were able to go on a wildlife walk through the plantation with a knowledgable guide on the evening of our arrival and were treated to an atmospheric pre dinner BBQ around a campfire below the viewpoint. Our evening meal offered no choice...

We arrived at Windermere Estate after a 4 hour drive from Cochin Airport. We were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our room which was big, airy and very clean. The room overlooked the valley but the view was blocked by lots of trees and a new hotel. We had booked in for three nights so took...

We weren't sure whether to take the time travelling to and from Munnar but the minute we arrived at Windermere Estate we were so glad we had. Stunning peaceful setting, quiet comfortable rooms, delicious food, friendly knowledgable staff, well organised day trips if you want them, but we could have easily spent a few days in the retreat without leaving....

Windemere Estate was perfect for us. Pleasant well equipped bungalows in the most delightful of settings. Our host and the staff were delightful and we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. The food was lovely a set menu with several choices so we could try different things. A stay to remember
