Our room with a private bath felt like a dorm room, which makes sense since this was formerly a boarding school. We had a big, sunny window overlooking the hillside and small hot pool (walk in slowly and don't look down; there's a lot of black organic material in the water). There is a small waterfall above the hot pool...

Well, this was an interesting experience. We didn't mind that we were in the middle of nowhere, but finding the entrance to the hotel was complicated. There are several buildings on the property, which seemed to be a compound, and no signs pointing us to the hotel entrance, which happened to be at the back of everything else. When we...

Too plain hotel rooms for the price we paid. The place looks old and like a summerhouse for children and surely would benefit refreshing its look. Nothing was actually bad and the place was neat but for the amount of money -even for Iceland- you would like a bit more. Only highlight was the hot geothermal pool on the hill...

If you are desperate, then yes... Book this. But I would just keep on driving, or camp outside. We only booked the hotel because of it's location between Isafjordur and the ring road. The SHARED showers had a floating band aid in it, the rooms were filthy (sheets, sink) and the walls were paper thin. The breakfast was just OK,...

Great location, warm friendly staff, hot outdoor rock pool with grass covered dressing shed. Beautiful views. Walk up the hill behind the hotel and enjoy the view, and the hot rock pool, bask in the sunshine.

In a beautiful setting this modernised Edda hotel. I was here for one night only but could have spent another day or two. Modern, cosy rooms with all facilities. Nice bed, good bathroom. Beautiful restaurant nice fish but slightly overcooked. Outside the hotel a nice natural hot pool! Can recommend this guesthouse/hotel.

We slept one night at this hotels camping ground and I really can't understand why this place is recommended. It was the most expensive camping we been to in island and the facilities was non existing. The toilets were dirty, the soap was watered down and there was mold in the roof, the "kitchen" smelled awfull and looked like it...

There isn't much to recommend the area other than its remoteness and like most of Iceland the beautiful natural scenery. I stayed here to break my journey back to Reykjavik. The hotel is very modern and pleasant and the staff are young but courteous and efficient. Like most Iceland hotels prices are over the top for what you get but...

Bear in mind, these were some of the highest prices we paid in Iceland. The rooms were strictly utilitarian and uncomfortable. The food was fair. The pool was extra (!) and closed early. We stumbled into what must have been the staff hallway on the first floor, and the bathroom adjacent to the door was knee-high with personal (biohazardous) waste...

Wonderful place to stay! The rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable. The first night we stayed in the newer building which is the hotel itself, and those rooms come with a private, spacious bathroom. The second night we stayed in a room in the older building. This is a school in the winter and the older rooms are actually the...
