Their are not enough stars to tick on this review page, to highlight how Maura and Cahl excelled in all aspects of excellent hosts. We were told by Maura of an excellent tench water that had produced good numbers of tench a few weeks before we arrived. We didn’t know how to get to this water , but it wasn’t any trouble to maura to stop what she was doing and take us their so we didn’t get lost , trying to find it ourselves. Their is only one way to sum up Maura and that is WONDER WOMAN MINUS THE CAPE. Keep up the good work and thank you again for your warm hospitality oh and die for breakfasts. I would have no hesitation in recommending your B&B to fellow fishermen and non-fishermen. Southern Ireland has some of the nicest people around and that is evident in Maura and Cahl. Look forward to seeing you both in the near future. Derek…
Stayed here on the 8th and the 11th April 2022 with my grandparents and mum as we were in Ireland for a family wedding, and both nights we had a really lovely stay. Mrs Hughes looked after us really well and made us feel at home, the rooms are spotless with beautiful views and the breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked, just the thing to set you up for the day. We would absolutely reccomend Church View Guest House. Many thanks for accomodating us x
I was on Family holiday with My Mam and Brother and Maura looked after us so well in the Church View Guest House. We stayed for 2 nights Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August 2021. The location is excellent right in the heart of the town of Belturbet and just right outside the door is the local shop and there are some great local Bars/restaurants to enjoy food. Maura made us an incredible breakfast each morning and the bedrooms were so comfortable and there is a nice living room to relax and watch tv and make a cup of tea..... We had an excellent stay, Thank you Maura for looking after us so well and making us feel so welcome.
I stayed for a fishing trip . Perfect accommodation and the owner Maura is lovey and cooks a mean breakfast . It’s situated right in the town and only a walk from the river. The price is extremely reasonable too.
8 of us travelled to golf in the area and found the rooms excellent the Breakfast as good as you will get in Ireland and Maura and the family the pleasantest people you will meet. 'Above and beyond' one of the lads left something in the room on the last morning and before we were off the golf course Maura had the missing item at the Golf course waiting on us what more can you say
Just returned today from a weeks fishing holiday in Belturbet. I had heard a lot about Church View from friends who had stayed there. We were not let down one little bit. Maura and staff are very attentive, nothing tis to much for them. Always smiling and ready with top fishing advice. Our room was roomy, well equipped shower room, beware, the shower is very powerful,:-)). Rooms cleaned daily, towels changed daily. Fresh water every day. TV with usual channels. Breakfast, start with cereal if you wish, then the full Irish is presented Very filling. If you skip the cooked breakfast and just have cereal, Maura will do a packed lunch with sandwiches, biscuits and fresh bottles water. Or if you have a flask, hot toe or coffee. The lounge has tea, coffee making facilities, and always restocked with chocolate biscuits, and if yoyr lucky some of Maura,s home made scones. This was our first visit, but it will not be our last, Excellent hosts, ecellent B&B…
We had a week’s fishing stay with Maura. From moment arriving to last day leaving I’d say it was the best accommodation in 15 years of coming over to Ireland. Simply ticked all the boxes (and more)- ideally located, rooms perfect, brekkie perfect, great parking access, bait/tackle storage facility brill. And regularly get a lovely waggy tail welcome from Larry the family’s pup lab! If anyone was thinking about setting up a B&B then go to Church View to see Maura and get a lesson in excellence of how it’s done.
We stayed at Church View for fishing from 7th June to the 14th June, myself and husband and a party of 6 other friends who we have been fishing with for 30 years (tough crowd to please) From our first meeting with Maura she couldn’t do enough for us with firstly showing us the rooms we could have so that we could allocate them to the chaps. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean with either twin, double or triple beds with a hairdryer. They are all en-suite with spotlessly clean shower rooms with towels and shower gel and soap provided. I had read in a previous review about the shower being great but wasn’t sure whether the person posting had a really bad shower at home. I want to personally apologise to that person for not believing them. The shower is so powerful it had me pinned against the glass when I first used it lol, fantastic cleaned and rinsed my hair in a few seconds. Breakfast was wonderful I can recommend the full Irish with wonderful white pudding. There was also cereal available and yoghurt and fruit and copious amounts of tea, coffee and toast with Soda bread to die for, it was lovely Maura. There is a lounge area with makings for tea and coffee with biscuits provided and a TV. Some of our guys mentioned they would have like to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms although I personally wasn’t bothered about this as you could go downstairs and make it to take back to your room at any time. Maura was also fine with us taking back a take away to eat in the lounge and even provided plates and knives and forks and serviettes for us to use. Fishing wasn’t very good due to the extra water in the system that increased the level by a good couple of feet, which wasn’t anyone’s fault. I must mention that when it came to where to fish and advice Maura was splendid. She not only told us where places were fishing and what they caught she also drove all of us around to actually show us the fishing places, most of which we would have never had found had it not been for Maura. She also rang land owners to arrange for us to get access. All the chaps said that in 30 years of fishing in Ireland we have never had that kind of service and help before and had nothing but praise for Maura and her great knowledge and experience. We also want to mention Niamh whose wide smiley face lit up the place all week, the smile never left her face, keep it up Niamh and good luck with the engineering. Rose was also fantastic and remembered what we were eating and drinking and liked. So would I recommend staying there, yes I would 100% although can you please leave a week there for us poor anglers for next year. Fantastic place.…
A very warm welcome with very welcoming people. I recommend it to anyone. Very comfortable rooms and a very good breakfast. Very comfortable nothing to complain about. Thanks to Mora and his family for this wonderful welcome
I would highly recommend Church View Guest House. The bed was comfy with really soft sheets, and the bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was excellent - the homemade brown bread was delicious! Maura was a very friendly and helpful host, and couldn't do enough for me during my stay. Excellent value also.
